at first glance im thinking yea right on. but then i thought a little more and im wondering if maybe you shouldnt just call the flop.

How are you not at least calling this down? We're behind only two hands on the flop 88, AK. (edit: oh yeah and K8) I think if he had some sort of good AK hand he would be raising preflop. We only have 5 outs to a nut house going to river. We're heads up OOP with a showdown hand. I'm c/c turn and river.

Do you have any reads here on the villain. If he is playing super tight then your fold is probably correct. I have a hard time not calling this down though.Also if you are calling the 3-bet why are you folding the turn when the 4 probably didn't make a difference.

because he has odds to try to boat up on the turn but not the river.

If I just call on the flop then where does that leave me on the turn? c/c mode? (I hate doing that feels like I'm just bleeding away chips) Also spot on with my reasoning for calling the 3-bet on the flop and giving up on the turn

I thought it was exactly one of those two scenarios. I raised to try and figure out which one on the cheap street. flawed?

usually when its one of those the best thing to do is not to raise. the problem here that i see and i get the feeling you see it too is how often he is bluffing vs how often he has a king and has you beat vs how often he has a king and you are ahead is out of wack from most wa/wb situation. the other problem is that if you fold to easily you are going to be doing too much folding in the instance where you both have kings but you are ahead. i really think that just check/calling down might be the best idea here. i wonder given the small pot on the flop if a very passive player bets who isn't loose (<35ish) if you can't just fold. it sounds crazy to me too. the more i think about it though the more it feels right. how many Kxxx hands are you ahead of in the top 35% of hands?
