Taking A Polygraph Test On Tuesday.

I'm applying for a job with the local sheriff department and am just about finished with my background check. I received an email saying a polygraph test was required to complete my background check. I have spoken with some people and they tell me that some questions are weird, others saying that you can barely move without setting the thing off. I've been completely honest with everything I'm just a little nervous.
Any tips?

For the first 4-7 years, yes. After that I'll be on patrol.

Just be truthfull about EVERYTHING. If they ask you about smoking pot before, or anything like that alot of people lie, because they think if they tell the truth they won't get hired. Its the opposite, they don't give a crap if you have smoked weed before, just be honest about it. If your honest their is nothing to worry about. If you lie about just 1 thing, then I would be worried.

Polygraph tests are basically bologna.
But it's normal to be nervous, so don't worry about that too much. They're going to read you some baseline questions and your level of nervousness in response to those questions will be taken into account.

It's a bunch of bullshit, and the best results they can get are "inconclusive".
To help calm your nerves pre-poly, I would recommend someone watching: Drop it Stephanie.

Be truthfull. You may find some questions off the wall trying to evoke a response from you. Don't give them that opportunity. and Welcome to my world of forensic's

Actually the worst job is illegal paraphernalia watch. They have to smear through their poop to see if the had swallowed anything.

At the internship I'm talking to about 6 other guys about the polygraph. I tell them that I was nervous I wasn't going to pass because of what the guy said to them. Every single one of them (and they came from different states and had been given polygraphs by different people) had been told the same thing. So, obviously, it is more of a mindfuck than anything.
