I am considering a family trip to Vegas. It would have to be February or April school vacation weeks, so I'm not going to stand in line at Disney (btdt). The kids would probably like the other options......Washington DC or a cruise better, but tough........if I'm paying, I'd like to get my poker fix in icon_dance.gif

What is there to do in Vegas if you are 12 and 14 yo boys ? Much as they might enjoy it, strippers and prostitutes aren't going to happen. One is a Beatle freak, so we would definitely see Love. The coaster at NYNY and rides at Stratosphere would definitely be on the hit list. How expensive are the helicopter tours ? What hotels on the strip have an indoor pool ?

I went on a family vacation to Vegas with my parents when I was in the 4th grade so I think i was either 10 or 11. I spent a lot of time in the arcades and in the pools. I did have fun though; maybe because I've always been obsessed with gambling!

Pools in Vegas close ridiculously early....like 6 or 8 pm. Dunno if that really matters to you though. I think it depends on where you stay. Many hotels have stuff that might amuse kids, though I'm not sure about the 14-16 age bracket as they're kinda in a tough spot being in between kid stuff and adult stuff.

I've been to Vegas probably close to 20 times when I was under 21. They have movie theater, Gameworks, arcades, roller coasters, Excalibur and Circus Circus have carnival games.

Also have someone walk around with them to see all there is to see. I always found Vegas fascinating, and I loved to just walk around and see all the glam that Vegas had to offer. Walk through all the casinos. My dad and I walked to all the casinos and asked for dollar chips from every one as souvenirs...which allowed for us to see all of Vegas, spend family time, and get a cool collection as well.

I love this idea. It's a pretty cheap thing to collect too. Sadly though, your dollar chips likely won't every appreciate in value much.

Awesome dude.

Hey, is there any live poker in ND (like Indian casinos or whatever). It's looking like I could possibly get stationed at Minot AFB sometime next year.
