Naked_Cowboy 0
No idea how this has no thread, but the first full length US trailer was released this morning. Originally slated to be released this friday, it was pushed back to be the 2009 warner brothers summer cash cow both beause the dark knight made WB way more money than it needed this year and the ordinary production cycle of movies leaves next summer comparatively empty thanks to the writers strike. http://pdl.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/halfblo...pion_D_1080.movhttp://raincloud.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/h...ion_D_LARGE.asx
SuitedAces21 2,741
I took my brother along as cover when I went to see the last two. But he's out grown it and I might have to go solo, which would be pretty embarassing.

With the quality of the rest of what they're showing, i'm very excited for the imax.

Love4hockey 0
Apparatewhat do you do?Were they apparating when they were fighting in the Hall of Prophecies at the end of The Order of the Phoenix? They turned into smoke then reappeared across the room. I thought that you couldn't apparate in the Ministry of Magic.

They turned into smoke then reappeared across the room. I thought that you couldn't apparate in the Ministry of Magic.you cant apparate into and out of the ministry. but i guess you can apparate from spot to spot once inside.although technically i dont think they fought like that in the book. it may have just been a stylistic choice by the effects team/director to enhance the movie. frautotenkinder 1,026
I know I posted about this before, but I saw a screening of this last week. I've seen it, and really enjoyed it. I'll probably go see it again, after it opens this week. Some things were cut, for clarity, brevity, and because they weren't particularly cinematic. (It's very difficult to film a character silently reflecting, without making him look like a tool, or addle pated.)This movie made me excited to see the next two, since the last three films of the series have the same director. I just remember the main points though, so it shouldn't be a big deal to me.
hblask 1
I saw this over the weekend, and I liked it. It's tough to rank a movie where I know not only this story but the sequel. So about all it can be rated on is how well they told it, and I'd say it was a success. The cinematography is spectacular, and some of the scenes were almost exactly as I pictured them as I read the book. The scene with Ron under the effects of a potion is almost worth the ticket price just by itself. If I had a complaint it's that it doesn't seem to carry the momentum very well, it sort of stops and starts. But this is a minor complaint in an epic tale. Overall it's a spectacle, really a beautiful movie to watch.
king_tanner 84
I liked it. Professor Slughorn was awesome. One thing I didn't like: The ending fight scene sucked.I whited the spoiler part out because my spoiler alert button isn't working for some reasonAnother thing I didn't like was how the theater were going nuts at parts that were not that funny. I wanted to yell shutup at everyone.

antistuff 0
was it just me or did they leave a whole lot of the story out in favor of showing teenagers making out?
