So i´ve been getting ready to go work on the oil rigs now for about a month. I´ve gotten all my stuff ready, my gear , required tickets ect ect...This will be my 1st job in about a year. It´s about an 8-9 hour drive up north. I hear the rigs are pretty dangerous but if you take the right safety precautions your just fine.They pay Is great, which is why im going up, For a 21 year old kid starting off making over 5g´s a month clear isn´t too bad. I´m going to be staying in a camp while i work which is awsome because it´s free accommodation & free food. They have chefs on site!It´s gonna be cold as shiiiiit up there but w-e.Gonna be working a 5 weeks in 1 week off for my first go. No more poker for a month . but I´m near edmonton & i hear the cash games there are realllyyy juicy.Wish me luck everyone! & good luck at the tables

GL.Actually I heard its getting tougher to get those oil field jobs as of late so your lucky. Oh and you will deffinatly find poker games in those camps.

I hear there is a lot of buttsecks in those work camps, just something you might want to consider.

I still cry every time I watch that movie.Good luck sounds like you will be making some big bank hopefully you dont spend it all and put some away.

Yea deffinatly start saving. Start a RRSP while the markets are down. If your making 5k clear a month put 1k a month in rrsp and at least another 1k into some other savings. Another year or so houses will be cheap in Canada again.
