All three of these hands were from the same SNG, and in fact the AA and AK hands were consecutive. These players had a tendency to raise from EP or MP and then for several people to smooth call. Obviously I don't want to just add my call to the queue--I'd rather do that with a small pair, a suited ace or suited connector, right? Seems a poor idea with AA/KK/AK. So the question is, how much to raise?

Okay, hmmm...the converter doesn't like these HH for some reason, so I'll just put them in without converting (sorry):

Hand 1 I think I move all-in.

Hand 2 I bump it up to about 270-300.

Hand 3 I probably smooth call and see the flop and evaluate then.

Just my opinions as these most definitely are not the optimal plays just what I would to. TIFWIW

Hand 1: I probably go to 350-400

Hand 2: same as 1

Hand 3: I would probably flat and re-evaluate. I wouldn't want to bloat the pot out of position with AKo

Did you have any stats/reads on the villians? it would probably change how i played the first two hands.

agree w/ most.

on the first one i dont even consider not shoving. no raise to 300 or 350 or any of that because you need to fold out the Ace rag hands in there. Honestly this early you are happy w/ doubling up or taking the modest pot the way it is. You dont want to play 3 way against AQsuited and 89 suited.

Or at least you want them to commit their money before they get to see whether the flop contains an ace!

1. Raise to 500, snap call any shove
2. Raise to 300-350
3. Shove

I like these. Though, I don't know of a shove with AK, though I don't flat. I 3bet to about 500 and then snap a shove.

My apologies: I seem not to have kept the HH for the AK hand. But as I recall, I reraised similar to how I had raised the AA hand (which was the hand right before this one and I had shown my aces), but I got two callers, missed the flop, my c-bet got raised, I folded...and the two villains duked it out with their semi-junky hands (bah).

Going back to the KK hand (which was actually the first one, sorry for getting them out of order): I raised to 520, and everyone folded.

ETA: I do kind of wish I had shoved the AK hand, in retrospect. Or a flat call would be okay too. The reraise followed by c-bet ended up sucking!
