would you fold this? Background: I was playing heads up with this guy who had rebought like 4 times already, He was an agressive calling station, but he was a bit tricky because he often put in massive overbets to the pot, hed show a bluff, and then show the nuts. I called his bluffs a few times but other times I called him when he actually had it, this caused a bunch of swing, I eneded up taking him down, but I still thinking I might be playing too safe, and not calling enough (I could do the betting part very agressively, but when it comes to calling I get a bit defensive).. anyway I this hand happend a bit before he busted.Seat 3: Other Dude ($36.15 in chips)Seat 8:  takemycash9 [KD,10C] ($124.75 in chips)ANTES/BLINDStakemycash9 posts blind ($0.25), other dude posts blind ($0.50).PRE-FLOPtakemycash9 bets $1.25, other dude calls $1.FLOP [board cards 3D,KC,9H ]O.D. bets $2, takemycash9 bets $5, O.D. calls $3. ( POT: $13)TURN [board cards 3D,KC,9H,QH ]OD bets $2, takemycash9 calls $2. (POT $17)RIVER [board cards 3D,KC,9H,QH,10S ]O.D. bets $27.65 and is all-in, takemycash9 folds. (POT 43.80SHOWDOWNO.D. shows [ 9C,10H ]O.D. wins $43.80.Maybe it was just the outcome of the hand that makes me kind of iffy about how I played it. But against a guy that either pushes with the nuts or on a stone cold bluff, I thought I might be able to pick a better spot. Was I right in folding?

Even headsup, all you have is top pair-medium kicker and a gutshot. And he keeps betting, you have to fold this on the river...hell I'm not entirely thrilled with your turn call but mehEasy fold I think
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Dont post resultsI hate calling overbets, just annoying.
The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

Agreed, don't look at what he ended up having. Even if he WAS bluffing with J-2, you're beat on the river. I'd be folding this too.

I had a guy tell me that he "f-ed up" while playing him heads up. I had a low pocket pair and the flop came all high. He checked the flop I follow. The turn brings another high card so I bet the turn, he calls. The river brings a one card straight, so I decide the time is right to push, and I did. He folded. Later he says he "f-ed up," because he had two pair J4 (what he was doing playing J4 to a pre flop raise is beyond me). I just laughed at him.

i play nl cash a lot...i cant stand limit but thats another story...this same thing happend to me the other day...or reasonably same thing...i folded as well and regardless of what he had i think you made the right lay down...i would have...that board is not good...i also dont like your turn call that much...i would rather have either folded or rasied in that situation...being that you liek to be aggresive that may have been a better play...but i do agree with your lay down

4-card boards are deadly.I don't care what the limit is, if there are 4 straight cards on the board, and a guy iswilling to put in all his cash, there's no way you can call, even if you have trips...Same goes for 4-flush boards, even with trips ora straight, without a flush card, it's nearly impossibleto call unless you have an incredible read.Much better to wait for a more optimal time
