New To Poker Vt

I have been playing Texas Holdem since 2004, but have never been a member of any training site until now.Even though I have been to college and taken college level math classes, poker math is my weakest area. As I am new to Poker VT, I am wondering if I should start with Daniel's courses or should I start with the poker math offerings. Or should I mixt the two by watching one of Daniel's followed by a poker math video. It might be pertinent that I have Daniel's Power Holdem Strategy and his two Holdem Wisdom books.I have a free ninety-days (expires at the end of December) and I want to get the most out of my time there.

they're two different things, it doesn't matter what order you watch them imo....just as long as you're actually retaining most of the info.

Well, since I know how to play and have been playing for awhile, would it make more sense to watch all the videos that cover my weak area first? FWIW, I think I am more of a small ball player as opposed as a long ball player so those videos won't be presenting topics alien to me.I am just worried that having only through the end of December will not give me enough time to properly absorb all that I want.

I just tried out PokerVT for 24 hours with a card I got from my WPTAPL. I've been hovering just into top 50%, with only 1 final table in 3 months. After learning a few moves and better betting strategy, I made 6th place tonight (final table) For the last month, I've been hovering around 15th place (just into pointing--top 16 point while top 8 point highest). I'm looking forward to signing up for the 3-month trial soon...Tonight, I saw a lot of pots, raised good hands preflop with continuation bets while in late, took out 3 loose players and grabbed my share of blinds. I switched things up a lot and pushed a few people hard with monster preflop hands, then slow-played others and surprised people with straights...I could tell they couldn't get a good read on my hands. The only chop to my stack was one play against a Tight/Passive player. I was on the button with QQ and raised about 3x the blind...putting it at 6k. She called. The flop: 10 J K. She checks and I do a strong continuation bet of 15k (between about 2/3 the pot). She called and I was a bit surprised, knowing how tight she was. I thought she paired a jack at best. Checked to the river (rags) and she showed 10 J, beating me with the 2 pair. After that, I survived a few all-ins with only 1 blind left and made final table. Small ball worked for me until I risked a bit to much of my stack. That was putting me in a marginal situation in a larger pot and I might have just checked it down and saved some money...It's funny to hear people call me a bully, when they only remember my few strong bets and strong hands and don't notice all the folds and limps...MaryBeth
