all the hands in this forum are limit holdem. you made a similar comment to a hand in the nl forum where you again said something in the vein of you can find better spots. maybe this is just your way of articulating that you don't think this is a good place to put in money. if thats what you mean then i get you. however, if you mean that we should pass on a profitable bet or call because its thin i dont follow your line of thinking. in a cash game we should push every edge even if its only a 51/49 one. i guess there might be reasons to lay off sometimes but those are "people" things that are beyond the scope of discusion of a single hand.

I would bet out, I think.. but since it got bet raised, I think you let it go. It's a small pot and there's a good chance you're drawing for half. Next time have 85 in the bb.

My thoughts:The math might be close.But I think the key here is your position on the later streets.If we justify cold calling this flop, it is based on the presumption that we have good enough implied odds when we hit.But since we will be first to act on the big streets, what do we do when we make our Straight?- Lead out? Surely this move will slow the action. Some opponents may even fold.- Check Raise? Clearly the Ten or Five will be seen as the biggest scare cards. So our oponents might even check behind.= Either way, we are not cashing in big.Point: chasing while out of position is almost always bad because we simply don't get paid off enough when we hit.In contrast to this logic, if we are sitting on the Button here, I do make the call.Because the chances of winning multiple bets is much greater.Also, I rarely lead this flop into 4 opponents.- We will never win the pot on the flop against such a big field, so we have no fold eq.- Building a pot with less than 8 outs doesn't seem too profitable.- We give someone with a vulerbale Top Pair a chance to protect his hand by raising and facing the field with 2-cold.--CM
