Drumstick88 0
when on the button, i don't feel very comfortable playing hands like 7-7-8-8-x as opposed to a hand like A-A-3-7-2. it always feels like the chances of hitting the boat are very slim and i end up losing to a guy in the bb who drew 3 and hit his aces up. i have started to just fold these kind of small pairs and instead try stealing with a hand like A-K-2-5-8. What are your general thoughts when dealt a small two pair on the button and it folds to you or there is 1 limper. if you raise how often do you follow through with a c-bet? outsider13 0
Just so you know, 2 pair does actually beat 1 pair, even if they are small pairs. If it's an unopened pot to you on the button, this should never be folded EVER and raised 100% of the time imo. Even if it's opened and not raised, I'm still playing this pot in most cases but limping is fine. Playing small 2 pair to a raise, you do have the button so you have the luxury of controlling the pot size. What I'm saying is I'd need some serious action in order for me to lay down 2 pr preflop. If I do raise, the cbet really depends on how many people, how many cards were drawn, etc. You are on the button so you have the luxury of evaluating all of this information. This plus stealing with AK852 is horrible unless the players are tight and you can easily snow but it is garbage.
jmbreslin 0
Are we talking cash games or tourneys?Agree with the others, 2P is definitely a playable hand especially in position. Low 2Ps don't tend to hold up that well in multi-way pots, and the chances of drawing your boat are very slim, do you want to raise predraw to limit the field.
