Live tournament.- three of us left

$60 buyin.

1st - $760 seat into 300 player tournament, + $90
2nd - seat
3rd - $250

Blinds are 3000/6000.

I'm bb and short stack - 12000 chips behind my BB. (why am I here...dwindled on blinds, lots of raises and reraises before it gets to my 82 offsuit)

UTG has about 70k, SB has about 130k.

They are likely not going to tangle with each other, unless I get lucky and they both get monsters.

UTG folds, and SB pushes.

What is my calling range here - my goal is to get a seat...and the other guy can have the $90, as far as I'm concerned.

Ill answer the question later.....where you been, bro?

answer: ATC. folding here gives you maybe 5% equity in a seat (icm might give you something a little higher, but the fact that your down to 2 bbs cuts the icm numbers way down, imo).

Doubing up here increases your stack to about 33k (assuming no antes), and a 15% chance (again icm would give higher). Gettin 3:1 against a random hand, ATC are a call.

Busier than a two-peckered billy goat.

Stepped away from ALL poker forums for a while...decided just to play my game without all the advice, and see how it goes.

Haven't had time to play nearly as much as I wanted, until recently.

I'm doing well live - mostly tourneys and 4/8 (had a two hour session where I made $600) - given up on online.

Now that I've had some time to play, and play more often, I am trying to take an objective look at my successes and failures and seeing what I can do about them.

So, I've come back to ONE forum and see what comes of it. I'm definitely seeing areas where I'm losing bets.

Still Nevada cc? Do you know Aces Rule (personally)? He's Calgary and when I thought I was coming up there last August he mentioned some new games.

I don't know him (that I know of).

I play my tourneys at the Nevada Room.

I'll play 4/8 at a couple of other casinos (Elbow or Casino ABS) - Nevada only does 1/2 or 5/5 NL, or 5/5 PL DC.

I believe there's the occasional PLO tourney.

I'm not seeing any other games anywhere - different stakes (Elbow has a 30/60 Limit Hold'em with a kill), but I'm not seeing any 7 card or Razz or anything else.

As far as the answer - I had a feeling I should be calling blind...slap me for folding.

If he has 12000 behind his 6000 BB, and the SB shoves, effectively for 18,000 total, isn't shpaget's call 2-1? Does that affect the calling range?

Anyways, glad to see you are back. I'm not in tourney much (hooked on PLO now), but I'll keep an eye out for you. Might come down and visit one day too - I'm single now...

I think he said the stadium that I passed between downtown and the Nevada CR was adding tourneys
