sample size? I am willing to bet that Obama and McCain have been about equally bi-partisan since Obama began in the US Senate. If I was sure we would be getting McCain circa 1999 I might vote for him. But he has not been that guy for half a decade now.

That is because Sam you are forgetting that the definition of bipartisan for a democrat is:

When the republicans put aside their beliefs and agree with the democrats.

If this is what you truly believe then what does it say about McCain?

the argument has never been that mccain wasn't bipartisan, but that he's changed in very, very profound ways since he's started running for president. i used to really like the guy, and wouldn't have been that pissed if he was elected in 2000. unfortunately, we don't have the same mccain this time around.

this is a fairly decent catalogue, although i'd lump some of the ones they have listed separately into single entries:

If there are two things LHE players like, they are weed and pornography. The third would be kittens. LHE does not appear on the list.

I've had a gut distrust of McCain from the very beginning when he first ran for president in 2000. However, there wasn't anything I could put my finger on as to why. I know there's going to be those here that think I'm some kind of nut. But there have been a number of both leaders and people who I've met privately who have triggered this reaction in me. I've come to the conclusion that there's something in their manner or body language that my subconscious recognizes as being untrustworthy or false.
It's nice to have that gut feeling vindicated. But I still can't quite bring myself to base my decisions on my gut, lol. Just doesn't seem logical to my conscious mind.

so your gut feel was vindicated by "something in their manner or body language that my subconscious recognizes as being untrustworthy or false"? Interesting distinction between your "gut" and your subconscious.

Lol it's me trying to make sense of that gut reaction to some people even just when I first meet them. Doesn't happen every time I meet someone sleezy though because there are quite a few that have fooled me. But so far every one that has triggered that reaction, it's been right on.
Bush triggered that reaction in me but at the time, I just wouldn't believe it. After all, he was supposedly a "good Christian person" and all my Christian friends believed him and all. My gut just had to be wrong this time was what I thought. Second time I voted for him though was more because I couldn't bring myself to vote for Kerry. But obviously again my gut feeling was right even though everything logical to me said it was wrong.
You can call it gut feeling, or subconscious or whatever but I still can't quite go with it alone without some kind of logical proof that it's right. And every time I've ignored it I've regretted it. I believe that many many people have the same kind of thing going on but won't admit it for fear of ridicule. I just decided that I liked ridicule I guess, lol.
Funny thing in this election is that Ron Paul is about the only candidate that hasn't triggered that gut recoil in me and that includes Obama. So have a feeling that regardless of who gets elected, we're all gonna be screwed. We'll see how it goes though. It'll be interesting.
What do you like to do for fun?
