they put that into effect a couple years ago in MN and I have come home ever since with my clothes not smelling like an ashtray. also they have set up gazebos or whatever outside of bars now for the smokers and thats a nice place to hang out sometimes. at least in the summer. not sure if I will be out there in January at all.
Yep.. NJ has been smoke free for a couple of years too. I love it! I am hoping the rest of the casino smoking ban goes through as well in NJ. Right now in Atlantic City the casinos have a smoking section.. but no other public place has smoking at all.

Hank's tenure at Soulsuckers, INC, LLC, DBA TBD, had not been long, but it had been distinguished... By drunkenness, hair-trigger violence, and a total lack of performance. I would call it a steady decline in performance, but that would imply that he performed at one point in time. In fact he had not. He was drunk.

Well, I would say that smoking bans are completely wrong. Let the market sort it out. There is a non-smoking bar and a smoking bar right next to each other in a nearby city. It seems like the non-smoking bar is doing much better.I am not a smoker, I never have smoked a cigarette, but it's not my job to take away freedoms to protect people, it's the Patriot Act's job.
The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

If someone has a highly contageious infectious disease that is airborne and deadly.. do you want him to be allowed to sit next to you at the bar? No? why not?Well.. I'd rather not breathe in the deadly smoke either. Smokers can do what they want to themselves, but unfortunately smoke goes in the air and affects many other people around them. It is not fair to say you can not smoke on your bar stool.. however it is not fair for me to have to breathe in deadly chemicals because you choose to put them in my air. If it didn't waft into my face, if it didn't get blown towards me and in my face by rude smokers and stayed just inside you and just around you, then go ahead and puff away on your cancer sticks.. however that is not the case.

You misssed his point about smoking/non-smoking bars. Let the market decide.. if no one goes to the smoking bars and restaurants, they close and no one has to deal with the apparent equivalent of a highly contageous, deadly, infectious, airborne disease while drinking a beer or eating some cheese bread..
I'm also fed up with the common cold but I just hate to say goodbye.

True.. I was more talking about the people who think they should be allowed to smoke everywhere.

My best friend in high school got hooked on heroin, I helped his mom keep him locked up in his room for 4 days while he went through heroin withdraws. It was really ugly/nasty couple of days. He hasn't touched it in over 10 years since that happened. He has been trying to quite smoking for over 5 years and can't.

The only thing that really pisses me off is when I see an adult smoking in a car and I see two kids in the back, crying their little eyes out.I mean that really bothers me. One day Im gonna say something to one of those people.

I agree. its really unfair for the parents to be able to smoke but not let their kids have any delicious, delicious cigarettes.

What about the people that get wasted at the bar and drive home? They pose a risk to people on the road just as much as someone who is smoking in the bar.The fact is, yes, there are places where smoking should not be allowed. A bar is not one of those places.
As a smoker I have no problem banning smoking in a lot of places, but in a local neighborhood bar, no.
