OP got unfairly derailed from his main point, you're all fucking idiots
We get it. Obama's not even close to being a socialist by the world's standard (which aren't the same as Republicans standards). McCain's pick of Palin as a VP was terrible if she ever, actually, had to step in as POTUS. Obama has the right viewpoints that are successful. Those are his main points which few will even care about. Why?Because he came off as a dick and a "hater" of the American citizenry and nation. When I point out why I don't think my country is number one atm, I bring certain legitimate points to the table and I'm not attacking anyone. I voice my concerns because I have a deep desire to see USA rise to the top as it should. If he was so concerned about the safety of HIS world (which I doubt he even feels the general American public is a part of), he would just speak on issues and politely ask us to consider them.
I was not lying. I said things that later on seemed to be untrue. - Richard Nixon

People come to Washington believing it is the center of power. It was only much later that I learned that Washington is a steering wheel that's not connected to an engine.

I look at the Senators and pray for this country.

It may be true that you can't fool all the people all the time, but you can fool enough of them to rule a large country.

1) I am from the UK: the government is rubbish here at the moment, but at least they will be voted out at the next election.2) Answer has already been explained in above posts.3) At the moment America has an extremely poor image thanks to a certain retarded president. It is not helpful for a country,on a number of levels both economically and politically to have a negative global image. The general consensus of the world is that Obama will at least show America is prepared for real change, and this will help mitigate the feelings of negativity that Bush has created.Mccain is practically Bush mark 2 and will send the opposite message.
Don't care what the worlds image of America is, would you like to know why? Because they are all looking up. The general consensus supporting BHO is of even less value...the reason they support him much like our Democrat friends is they are afraid to compete on an open market. Roll up your sleves and get in the mix...win a few rounds and all of the suden you realize you don't need government handouts...and socialism.long live the Queen.
"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
~ Senator Barack H. Obama

Wishful thinking, if only those lazy bastards would get off their asses, then there would be no need for any goverment aide and poverty would cease. If everyone was just hard working like us, all the problems would be solved and people would stop trying to take my hard earned wages

As an 'outsider' I will not be voting in this election, however I have been following with interest as the US president does have an immense effect on world politics, and this is a vitally important election in every respect.I am extremely disappointed so far I have to say; no matter how badly the Republicans screw up on important issues, such as the economy and foreign policy, and no matter how low the party satisfaction rate is,people will look for excuses to vote for them.

I have read several pro Republicans accusing Obama of being a socialist, laughable really. Obama is in fact centre right: proposing tax cuts for the majority of workers to help deal with the strain of high oil prices and increasing food costs is not 'far left' as some of the idiots are proposing. If anyone sees this as socialism they are totally deluded as they are for dismissing his proposal for free health care(most 1st world countries don't let their citizens basically die on the street if they can't afford insurance). The Sarah Palin matter is the most laughable of all these sordid tactics the Republicans are employing, mostly because it's working. How blatant can you be? How insulting can you be? And yet due to the stupidity of large sections of the US public they away with it. Apparently it doesn't matter if she doesn't have any policies to help the economy,is "pro life"(no matter what your position on abortion is,it shouldn't be the government who decides on this important issue),plus a whole host of allegations of corruption, none of this matters to them as shes a "pit bull with lipstick". Thats a good enough reason to vote for someone, like f*ck it is! No substance no solutions, just bluster and force.Obama has clearly advocated change on various important issues,Mccain now pretends to, but when you agree with Bush 90% of time you would have to be seriously simple minded to believe him.Lets face the clear facts here; America is still a deeply racist country, not all, but large sections of it.Of course this will have a profound effect on the race and is doing so. I mean 15% of Americans think Obama is a Muslim, FFS thats millions of people. When will people just take a look around and realise what is going on?, America is crying out for change yet some misguided people seem to think there is no problem.Obama hasn't lost this by any means, but the fact this is even close shows just how small minded a hell of a lot of people are in your country.

The Goverment should not decide. It is a state issue and that is where it should be decided.Look at Obama's position. He is for Partial Birth Abortion and has stated if elected the first bill he would sign would be Freedom of choice Act. That bill Declares that it is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability. And Obama believes that a aborted baby that lives has not rights, fighting Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act and killing it in his committee which he chaired. That is why he could not answer the question at Saddleback, "At what point does a baby get human rights?". The question was not fetus, it was BABY!Glad you used the word "allegations".....one by one they are being knocked down, why don't you research the rumor that she had a affair and how that rumor came about.........then get back to me.

This is my point, I hate communism and socialism and have firm centre-right views. Does wanting Obama to win the election make me a communist? In what way is Obama left wing? I have been following the election and nothing he has proposed is remotely communist.A universal health care system is available in most 1st world countries, would you rather not have one? I am shocked at the ignorance. So many Americans label Obama in this way with no understanding of what they are actually saying.
Hmmm............we could start with his highest Liberal Rating in the Senate. He is a socialist...just look at his criteria for selecting Justices to the Supreme Court. As person who has taught Constitutional Law he should know better. His criteria and I quote:"And we need somebody who’s got the heart—the empathy—torecognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy tounderstand what it’s like to be poor or African-American or gay ordisabled or old—and that’s the criteria by which I’ll be selecting myjudges. Alright?"
