$1/2 or $2/4 (forgot) at noble pokeragain, no hand histories, sorrypre-flop: akishore is BB with K :club: 9 :club: bunch of folds, CO raises.okay defend? considering this is normally a loose/passive game, should i not bother defending my blind from CO raises (but continue defending from button raises) since CO raises are less likely to be steals in normally loose games? or is K-9 suited in the big blind a defendable hand against a raise from any position if the pot is multi-way? (i'm pretty sure if it'll be heads-up, you should fold, e.g. UTG raises and everyone folds to you... but if SB raises, it's a three-bet, of course).flop: K :D Q :) 7 :club: SB checks, akishore checks, CO bets.check-raise good? slow down against the three-bet of course, right? i actually slowed down with the intent of check-raising the turn.turn: 9 :D akishore checks, CO bets, CO calls.but voila, i improved (though a flush and straight are possible...), so a check-raise was better. when i got three-bet again, should i have slowed down? i just figured my two pair was likely good against A-K or K-2 or A :) Q :club: or something...river: 8 :club: akishore bets, ...correct bet? or check/call? i assume i'd simply call if he raises here, is that right?thanks, aseem

Defend seems marginal but okay, because you're getting 5-1 on your defendI'm not sure I like the C/R at all. I like either just calling the flop and raising the turn or just betting out.Turn seems fine. I don't think you should be worried about the flush.River's just a continuation betJust my thoughts...

I don't mind the bet here particularly, but I think that I would have check/called. In the case how you played it, I would just call the raise.I'm guessing that you were beat after the flop and hitting your hand only tied you to it even moreso.KQs, KK, and QQ really stand out to me.An overplayed AK is possible as well, if that was the case, nice pot.

consider the possibility that CO was raising to steal. i don't like automatically putting him on AA-TT/AK/AQ/KQ.aseem

Understandable... but his three-bet of your check-raise would set of alarm bells in my head that KQ or 10-J :D were both reasonable possibilities. I personally wouldn't have gone with the check-raise at all after the flop. If he did have J-10 for the OESD OR the Diamond draw OR both... you would have given him a freebee if he had decided to check behind you. On the turn I would be very wary of either the 10-J straight, or the flush, or even maybe the straight-flush. This is one of those times when I would think that I hit an out that really was more likely a better out for the villain. There is a very reasonable chance here that I'm drawing to 4 outs (2 K's and 2 9's). I would have just check/called the turn and check/call or check/fold the river.

Vn.river: 8 akishore bets, ...Vn correct bet? Yes.check/call? Nah.i assume i'd simply call if he raises here, is that right? yesIMHO.

when you check raise the 9 and he 3 bets there should be alarms going off, thats the scarest card to come and he 3 bets you, unless he is very overaggressive i would slow down here, do you really think he would 3 bet that card with AK?

The defend was fine, the check raise flop was fine.. I would have bet out, and when I got raised, I would have called down... That card is super, duper scary.. if I did check raise, and got re raised, I really wouldn't have capped.. it's possible he has a one pair hand, like AA AK AQ..but not all that likely, and the only two pair hand he's likely to have is KQ... but KK QQ 77 are possible, as is J10, Ax diamonds. So the four bet is really just too aggressive.... You really need to be able to have a person put strongly on an inferor hand when you cap when the board is that scary. Your bet out on the river, also quite bad. The only hands I think likely that you can beat are AK or AA with an ace of diamonds on either of those hands.. and I don't think a cap with either of those hands is that likely unless raiser is very aggressive/ foolish...

I agree with you both too. I still prefer leading at the flop though. There is no reason not to call the turn 3-bet and then check the river. Imho.

You played this hand pretty poorly.Fold pre-flop.Bet/call the flop.Just call the turn 3-bet.Check/call the river.Getting cute arent you?
i saw him at the riverbank. he was breaking bread and giving thanks. with crosses made of pipes and planks. leaned up against the nitrous tanks.
he said take a hit. hold your breath and i'll dunk your head. then when you wake up, you'll be high as hell and born again.
