FTR doesnt convert 8-game HH's. Starting off, I'm really newby-ish when it comes to PLO. The only thing I know about PLO are some of the sweeping generalizations i've heard from others like "Position is really really important", "aces suck post flop", "if people start potting it, you gotta have the nuts or monster draws to continue"I'm torn about the PF raise being that I hate being OOP when the flop comes down 78T (8T suited). I bet the turn because of two reasons. 1) picked up the NFD and 2) the turn put me ahead of top two. However i'm also torn over reason 2 because it helps more 2-pair combinations than it doesnt. My newbish thoughts on the hand.Preflop OOP I would probably check here. You are likely to get a flop like you did that is tough to play oop. double suited or more connected for straight draws might make raising a good move, but this hand is really hard to play on the flop without hitting an ace or a flush draw.Why raise preflop and the check flop? Raising preflop gives you control of the hand. A cont. bet clearly defines your hand- but it also takes down the pot a lot on a dry board. I think a preflop raise plus leading into that board makes it difficult for any other player to call you. The only action you are likely to see is from flush draws or a set. Any other hand has to suspect you have AA minimum based on your line. You could have rasied pre with qq or Ax spades. Your continuation bet makes your opponent clearly define his holdings.final thoughts- Our table was kind of passive on the nl holdem and the plo. I think taking the aggressive line preflop and on the flop would work most of the time at that table.

Don't check preflop, raise definitely.Bet flop.You can slow down if he pushes back.

We are not betting and raising to define our hand. We should be always betting for value. Hence the raise preflop is a must, especially with our stack size. We have under 40 BBs to start the hand if I'm reading things right. Pot the flop and call a shove.
