Welcome.I would suggest depositing money in a site like PokerStars that offers micro limits. (.01/.02) You shouldn't be playing the .50/$1 limits at Party Poker with only $50.

Listen to him, $50 is not nearly enough to play at Party because the lowest limit is .50/1.00 - 1 bad session will break you. Look for a site that has a decent deposit bonus and low limits.

i tried to talk here about that program, the RNG , not to talk about when to accept all in without to see flop.
You can accept all in whenever you want, or whenever you feel lucky, but in virtual room's is not like in reality. In reality anything is possible... in virtual rooms you can be "the one" who knows the future, or who can change the future.

As the others have mentioned, $50 is not enough of a bankroll to begin with at Party Poker, and even moreso for a newbie. Going for the micro limits at other sites might be a much better idea if you have not yet deposited.Reading up on Poker and gaining experience from playing often against different types of players, are really the best ways to get good at it. Sklansky's Small Stakes Hold Em is considered by many (here on this site)to be the premier poker book for beginners. It's a lot of math concepts, but well worth the read. There are no magic tips for how to win "all the time"... although I would say that downloading Poker Tracker ($55) and Gametime + (free add on) are very helpful in improving your win percentage. Although it might seem unnecessary when you are starting out, and just trying to get a feel for the game itself, I think over the long run it's incredibly beneficial software.Just a few thoughts.

just in case you are not convinced yet: $50 is NOT enough, play lower stakes ($0.05/$0.10 limit on pokerstars is ideal)

With $50, .05/.10 at Pokerstars is definitely the way to go. I started there to learn primarily starting hand requirements (see SSHE) and aggression. I have found that the .25/.50 Pokerstars game is much tighter and different, so be ready when you move up.I just started .50/1 at Party last night and I found the game much looser than .25/.50 or .50/1 at Pokerstars, but get your bankroll to 300 BB to handle the variance.Has anyone else had the same experience with Party? I couldn't believe how loose the game was! Was that just random or is that normal (i.e., calling to the river with A high or bottom pair on the flop)

.5/1 at Party is crazy loose.1/2 is generally a different game altogether.

Yea, all the crazy loose players at PP move to 1/2 6-max. 1/2 full is a rock garden.

I'm a donk when it comes to shorthanded play. What adjustments should I make to slap the 1/2 6-max game silly?

It's loose enough on nights/weekends. Finding a table above 23-25% VP$IP any other time has been hard to do lately.Don't want to sound like a whiner here...I just miss the 40% VP$IP days at .5/1!

if you guys want loose $1/2, three-table noble poker (max is three tables) and add one table of pacific. that does the trick.same for $2/4.also, golden palace poker has nice $1/2 and $2/4 games, too, but they really alternate between super-loose and rockish. oh, and golden palace poker is quite aggressive, in general. if you're out of position in a multiway flop, you will almost never get a free card if you check.aseem

Is VP$IP the % of people to see the flop? I've seen a number of times posted but wasn't exactly sure what it meant. If so, how do you locate this on Party? On the main page of games, I only saw the number of players and the average pot.

VP$IP = voluntarily put money into pot. it's a percentage. for the table stat, it basically means flop %, but it's a little more sophisticated than that (since blinds don't count, etc.).you find it using poker tracker and gametime+.aseem
