OK, This one isn't too bad but just one of those disheartening beats. Alright i was shortstacked at the table (as usual) And after about half the table folds and the rest had limped in I raised all in with JJ. I get called by A 3 by the button. Basically a coin flip and i know im beat if he pairs his ace. Well the flop comes 2 K K. I'm breathing easier and the turn is Q. One more card left and sure enough, it comes Q. He has the ace kicker to win it. I would have rather had an Ace come and put me out but it had to happen the hard way. Once again, this wasnt much of an actual bad beat it just stung. This one was me just blinded by my hand which i played pretty badly. I get dealt A
K
and call a raise. flop comes 10
7
5
I raise a lot and get called. The way this kid plays i know he will chase a lot of cards so i figure he is on a straight or flush draw. next card is a blank, and he checks to me. This further renforces my thought that he is on a draw and didnt pair up. Hoping to force him out of the hand i bet about half my stack. He calls (uh oh). Next card is 5
. This is where i messed up and went all in. Sure i had the highest flush but he went right ahead and called. I say i messed up because i didnt care about the board pairing. He had pocket 7's and got his full house to send me packing on the river. My bad! This last one i basically saw coming. I was shortstack again (imagine that) and got J 6. i was in the blind and everyone limped in. I checked and figured i should see a free flop. It comes J 6 6. sweet i think. Well i check and it gets checked all the way around to the guy to my right. He bets a ton and of course i called. next two cards are blank but he keeps betting so i keep calling. He bets me the last few of my chips and of course i call. Now if you have seen rounders you know what happens next. i turn my cards over only to see pocket jacks. Honestly i was almost 100 percent sure he had it but i couldnt give up a hand like that being shortstacked.

So I guess you watch a lot of poker on tv, huh? Ever picked up a book on poker? Maybe you should consider it. A-3 v J-J is not a coinflip. He only had one overcard to your jacks. You'll win this more than 2/3 of the time.
