QUOTE
Each team’s at-bat in the 11th inning and beyond will begin with runners on first and second bases. Teams may start the 11th at any point in their batting order under format changes announced Friday by the International Baseball Federation and adopted in time for next month’s Beijing Games.

It will be a one-time thing anyway considering this is the last Olympics with baseball in it.

That's just ridiculous.
Can't believe they are eliminating baseball and softball. Have to believe it's a bias against the US players and them playing for countries like Greece if their second cousin on the stepmother's side stopped in Athens on a layover from Hong Kong in 1953.

Think there should be a rule: You can only play for the country that you're a citizen of.
P.S. I'm assuming your "love" for the WBC is sarcastic.

I was unable to get interested last time. Just Remember Bart Colon pitching for his country and then flaming out for the Angels. I doubt it was worth it for him or the Angels.

I saw this go across the bottomline the other day and literally started busting out laughing. This is so ridiculously funny that it's not. It is as bad as college softball now.

I also heard that if a teams mom is yelling at the umpire too much... they will give an out to the opposing team.
And.... there will be snacks after each game.

Baseball's not big enough worldwide. Throw out the third world countries with no electricity there's basically US and Japan.

Yeah I can see that. And if that's the case how 'bout getting rid of some the reedickulouse events in the winter olympics like curling, biathalon, and hockey.
