It certainly doesn't look good, but your 3 bet kinda commits you. I personally think getting 30% of chips in and then mucking preflop is god awful. Since its a $3 dollar tourney AQ and AK are definitely in his range and maybe even 77 and 88. I call and hope to win the race.

I would call and not 3 bet for a couple reasons. If you get three bet you're at best in a race situation.

Is this before I was railing? I think so, or I was REALLY drunk cuz I don't remember it. Anyway.

I flat the raise. Ideally we are looking to hit our set and that's a long shot. Plus making a cbet on the flop might be more effective in picking up the pot. If he raises there, I am giving up on the hand. But I would even cbet on a scary looking flop and willing to get away from the hand if called or raised. If called you get to see the turn and decide then. If raised you aren't making a decision for all your chips, you are just getting away.

I also don't mind folding. You have to play a mid pair out of position against a preflop raiser. Who could have you crushed with an over pair. Of course he could also have AK and be willing to fold to your bet on a low flop.

I don't three bet (I really hope I wasn't railing at the time and suggested 3 betting, sigh)

Fold>Push>>>>>>Call>>>>>>>>>Raise I rate folding a little better than pushing out of respect for an EP raise, but you have considerable FE against anything but a monster, so pushing cant be too bad. Calling relegates the hand to set value, and you dont have the implied odds for that. Raising has the same problems as calling but costs you 3x as much and you cant stand a reraise on top of it.

Fold as played.

I make dumb plays all the time, but what I would do is...

Flat call, see a flop. On one hand, the guy could be 3 betting a made monster. On the other, he could be 3 betting AK/AQ or a small PP to chase away pretenders and people with med PP's and/or AK/AQ.

Calling 21K and folding the flop if it comes bad, you still have 30 BB's. You'll probably have a tough decision, though, as the guy is likely to shove any flop (pot would be about 51K), but at least you'll have 5/7ths of your hand to make that decision with, instead of an extremely vulnerable mid-PP.

As played, I fold

Naw, you weren't railing at this point..I made a mess of this hand..3 betting with no read sucks balls here, especially considering I wasn't sure what to do if he 4 bet.

I just really hate playing OOP when I'm not the aggressor so sometimes I try to take the aggressive approach..and make a mess out of if it like this

Cop: I think we're far too deep to shove..I think that essentially gets us called by only hands that crush us and AK

Your M is 13 preflop. raising and folding is a disaster compared to pushing, and if youre going to call a reraise all in with 99 then you should push it for the fold equity. As I said, i slightly prefer a fold here (because the stack sizes are awkward for post flop play), but pushing cant be far behind.
