serge 904
The Leafs announced today that they will honour former captains Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark by raising their numbers up to the rafters. Unlike the despicable franchise Montreal Canadiens, the Leafs dont retire every single players number to have ever skated for them. The Leafs have only retired two numbers Ace Bailey #6 and Bill Barilko's #5http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=244004&lid...=headlines_mainGood job MLSE for yet another class move by honouring two Leaf greats.I would of loved for them to honour Ricky as well, but dont think thats happening.Wonder how Chris will spin this move into a negative. digitalmonkey 929
It's sad when a franchise has to "honour" players that can't even make the Hall of Fame.
copernicus 0
It's sad when a franchise has to "honour" players that can't even make the Hall of Fame. And a players who spent about 1/4 of his career with the team and his last 8 years on different teams..except for one game. 7s7c 0
In other news the Hawks are retiring #3 for Pilote (and Magnuson I suppose). He was really good (Pilote) and was winning Norris' over Tim Horton and others in between Harvey and Orr's run. Now if the Rangers would start honoring guys like Bill Cook and Andy Bathgate rather than Adam Graves it would be something.
