How to NOT be unlucky.

That's it toys and squirrels. No one can teach that.

You can play perfect poker. You can get your money in as a HUGE favorite. And you can still get your ass handed to you on a plate. All the coaching, all the studying, all the practice. It don't account to squat when luck says "**** you, you lose."

End of lesson.
Life is short. Enjoy it while you can

Hey OP,

PM me a couple hand histories from MTT's or SNG's and I'll review it with commentary for an upcoming VT video. This is something I've thought about for awhile and if you don't mind, then I think it'd be pretty cool.

I think I prefer the HH analysis you've done so far Adam, to the live stuff, you get a lil more time to gather your thoughts and go over concepts icon_dance.gif

Just noticed some new VT stuff out, ship it!

You bring up a very important point, and in particular, a word: VARIANCE.

I have an idea for a question for Prof. Swayne. It goes something like this:

We have all heard the word variance in relation to poker. What I was wondering was.... How exactly does variance apply to a poker player?

How long is "the long run" that everyone talks about? How many hands would a poker player have to play to allow all the statistics to fall where they are supposed to? How long would someone have to play for all things to even out?

I would find a mathematical treatment of that fascinating.

BTW, I have a subscription to PokerVT and have no complaints.

Its about winning in the long run not one individual hand where you get it all in with a set vs a straight draw and he wins or what ever the scencario maybe but ,its about winning in the long run and taking advantage of peoples mistakes, whether it be calling weak or being too aggressive out of position and so on.
