Each team will continue to play an 82-game schedule, but the breakdown of opponents has changed. Each team will play their divisional opponents six times (24 games in total), four games against each non-divisional conference opponent (40 games in total), one game against each of the 15 non-conference opponents and three “at large” games.I'm glad they finally decided that it's important for every team to face every other team in the league at least once per season. I'll gladly give up 8 divisional games per year in favor of the above system, it's really quite perfect IMO. Link to post Share on other sites

Their first home game will be on Oct. 15 when the Boston Bruins visit the Bell Centre. The final game of the regular season will be on April 11 against the Stanley Cup finalist Pittsburgh Penguins. That is the opening day for the entire League.The NHL returns to inter-conference games this season, where every franchise will play every other franchise at least once. In addition, teams will have home-and-home affairs with three clubs from the opposite conference.For Team Teal, these three Eastern Conference opponents include Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Eastern Conference Finalist Philadelphia Flyers and Vincent Lecavalier’s Tampa Bay Lightning.nice trio for the home and homethe real question is if they'll make sure if a team doesn't visit this year that they'll visit the next. If there's a weekday Sabres-Pens game at Buffalo I'll get the day off for that, my wife loves Crosby so I know she'll want to go no matter what. Friday and Saturday nights I have off. Season, packages, or individuals?I guess Canadians are happy with only have 3 day weekends as their Thanksgiving is on the 2nd Monday in October. In the US of A Thanksgiving is always the 4th Thursday in November which assures a good % of US'rs the 4 day weekend.I think all teams are different...I just keep an eye on each individual website.The Pens season ticket holders renewed at rate of 99% (13860 of out 14000) and the 140 tickets will go to a small percentage of the 2,100 currently on the season ticket waiting list.Six-game mini-plans will go on sale to members of the season ticket waiting list on Sept. 4. Only fans on the waiting list will have the chance to purchase these six-game plans.Individual game tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Sept. 20.The club also plans to select four games for special “Student Rush” promotions. For those games, college and high school students will be able to purchase discounted tickets for $20. A total of 400 tickets will be available for each of the four games.The Penguins have sold out 67 straight games at Mellon Arena. That was soooo sick.I remember getting thur-sun off during school, and I think that's what still happens. We usually also get a 1/2 day on Ash Wednesday.
