Leafs Giving Away Tickets To Preseason Game

Recommended Posts

So the greatest franchise in the history of hockey has decided to reward its fans with a preseason game with free tickets....good job MLSEhttp://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=243557&lid...=headlines_main
No. The franchise has once again found a unique way to grab cash. They couldn't just add a pre-season game, since, at their outrageous prices and crappy on ice product, even the blind Toronto fans would call foul. Instead, they convinced Coca Cola to PAY for ALL the tickets, and then MLSE will give them away. That way, they get the full ticket pop, plus they get to rape fans at the concession stands for an extra date. Not to mention the fact that, if I was a season ticket holder, I'd be LIVID. They are forced to pay full price for pre season games as part of their package, and yet the leafs give away a game for nothing to people who DON'T spend 10 or 20 grand a year on seasons. Nice work, MLSE....

once again the journalist in you has spun it in a negative way..How about giving a chance to kids and people who never get a chance to go to a game otherwise??

Yes, giving kids a chance to see a game free of charge (not counting food and parking) is great but would MLSE do it if they weren't getting someone else to pay for the tickets? I doubt it!MLSE sucks hardcore! I'm starting to pity you Serge. It must really suck to have an allegiance to such a crappy organization.

imagine if montreal or ottawa was giving away free ticketsthey are so bad that they have to give it awayIt's only a preseason game so I think it's good for people that don't normally have the chance at seeing live games to get that chance

I think it's GREAT for fans who would never get a shot ordinarily, and I bet the atmosphere at this game is better than a first round leaf playoff game (for those that can remember back that far). I just hate that A) MLSE took all the credit while Coke ate the bill B) They spin this like they are giving it away when they are in fact doing it to get revenue from an extra exhibition game..

At least it mentioned in the article that Coke paid for the ticket. I wouldn't have expected that. I would expect MLSE to take all the credit.

That has more to do with those journalists and their penchant for facts than MLSE.

those journalists wake up every morning and the first thing they recite to themselves is:"today i will be negative about the Leafs" over and over again.

I think it's a pretty sweet move. I wish I could get a free ticket to a pre season game in MTL.
For the fans, it's an awesome move. Considering most of them would never be able to afford a ticket, or get one, it makes for one special event and they could care less who's paying or making money.
