damn, Tony Kornheiser might have nailed this one. I think the chances of him playing this year just went from 1% to 33%.

From what I read, he wants back, but GB doesn't want him back so he asked to be released. They did not release him...

GB is stupid then. I agree with SuitedAces that Favre is overrated (and has been for a while). Still, you know he makes them a better team and it would energize the fan base.

I would gladly welcome Brett to the Lions if it meant getting Kitna out of here. Maybe then I would be half a fan.

I wonder if something happened in the last 18 months that A, lit a fire under Bretts ass to play his ass off and B, play this whole game to embarass the Packers management? I suppose it's possible. Bretts a proud guy, and I know they were pushing him towards retirement not so long ago.
So much for a comeback.

Yeah. I think it is potentially going to be a sad sad situation. Brett Favre is like a god in Green Bay and I am only exaggerating slightly. It would be a shame if he ruined it in his twilight.....especially if he ends up in Minnesota or Chitown.

My money is on GB convincing Brett to be traded to the AFC (most likely the Ravens who apparently are interested).

My money is he pushes for an unconditional release and goes where he wants, probably Minnesota with there sweet O- line, running game, upgraded defense and assistant Brett worked with back in the day. He has all the power right now- the Pack can't trade him, they will look bad. Simple as that.

As a bears fan, I am torn about the prospect of having favre. On one hand, it's about 3 years too late and I hate him more than any player in any sport, and it might give me physical pain to root for him. On the other hand, the idea that it would put the favre worshiping packers fans in even more pain to see him as a bear. I guess I'll just root for him signing with the vikings, so I can both root against him, and delight in packer fan's pain.

I'm totally rooting for him to sign a three-year contract with the Bears, and then warm the bench and make an ass out of himself. The funny thing is that I really love Farve; he just looks like a completely weathered badass out there, and the fact that he's a junkie makes him that much more awesome to me. But the Farve-worshipers are such hayseed retards that it would be awesome to watch him play for their rival and tarnish his legacy.
