Comments on this hand please - tbh i'm most interested how to play this sort of player, is more a case of waiting for a legit hand and let him hang himself?

Villain's 41/18/8 over 50hands, never folded his blinds, called 42% of PFR - was quite a handful, made me rarely want to raise his blinds even though I had position

Standard, esp. after the Ace hits. Also, just because someone calls a lot ou of the blinds doesnt mean you dont want to raise with position.

Yeh I know. I didn't think it was always profitable though, so tightened my range a little and cut down raising in the hope to hit something good with a decent hand

Check min raises are usually very, very strong (from any villain). But since you had position on him, calling and seeing what he/she does on the turn is fine, I think. Defo muck when the A hits and he fires again

Edit: On reflection I think I used to call in this kind of situation a lot, mainly due to curiosity (very bad reason). But check min raises are just so strong, even from 41/18. Would you not be "going anywhere on the flop" vs a 10/9 player?

These days I almost auto muck to min raises, but I am trying to make more precise reads. Not getting too attached to big pairs is very important.

Yeh I wasn't going anywhere on the flop - the min raise did spark an alarm bell but I still wasn't convinced he had a K

The 50% pot bet on the turn was a weird one too, wasn't sure what to make of it, if an A hadn't of come I may have called, but not sure tbh

TBH, I just give up when people check/minraise me at 10nl when I cbet on boards where it's pretty likely that I've hit the flop. It's usually just TP "finding out where they're at" and to be honest, you're going to have a hard time finding many people who do this will fold that TP even if you give them cause to believe that they've found out they're behind. It seems weak, but I think you save a lot of money just not bothering with seeing the turn until at least 25nl where it's more likely people are trying to level you or something. If the board was drawy, I could understand it more.

I think the thought process is, "I have top pair, so that makes it like .00001% that you can also have top pair, or a set, or two pair, or anything that beats my K7 on a K64 board, so keep raising while I call you down, lolz." This only tends to happen to me though when I threebarrel bluff people. No one ever goes crazy on me with TPNK when I have a set or two pair or something or I'd be rich. sad.gif
"How do they put the ****ing queen in the window?"

Darvin Moon, I hope you die in a grease fire.
