i saw him at the riverbank. he was breaking bread and giving thanks. with crosses made of pipes and planks. leaned up against the nitrous tanks.
he said take a hit. hold your breath and i'll dunk your head. then when you wake up, you'll be high as hell and born again.

Hahahaha.....Wouldn't call it the worst ever. I've lost money 4 or 5 times where I thought "I KNOW this guy has quads, but I have a full," and I justified some calls by saying that that was one of those hands you just have to suck up and lose a few extra bets on.All signs point to button having a weak ace, so if there ever was a time to fold a house to quads, this is it...

if the button had a weak ace he should have his head examined for not betting the river. as for your check on the river, i think you will only be called (or raised?) by quads or a larger boat so the check is fine.

True. But some people have strange notions of check raising HU

Seems fine. Button probably is trying to check-raise you
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Must've had KhQh. (or 33, but I don't think he cold-calls 3 bets preflop with it). If so, he probably makes the crying call with the pot this big (although he really shouldn't; what can he beat that you raise preflop with?)I guess it comes down to, would he cap the turn with a 3-flush on board with just trip aces? If not, he either has the flush, A7, or 33. So maybe you could bet the river, since only specifically the case A and the case 7 would beat you. But I think it's hard not to check there; too many unknowns to put him squarely on the flush.
Then you go to da box for 2 minutes by yourself, you feel shame... then you get free.

Well, button cold-called 3(!), then called on the flop, then went nuts on the turn, then checked the river. And I just now realized that a pocket pair bigger than 7s also beats you.He went nuts on the turn, despite the flush draw getting there. This tells me one of two things--either he's one of those fish I love to see in micro-limit who think only "ooh, I hit my big draw!" without paying attention to what else said card could have helped (Or what's already on the board), OR he's not scared of said flush for whatever reason. So the question becomes "would he cold-call 3 bets with a pocket pair bigger than sevens?", and, if so, "Why would he wait until the turn to go nuts when a scary-ass card comes for him?"Interesting hand, and I can definitely understand the check.
