Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)

SB ($51.85)
BB ($55.15)
UTG ($25.70)
MP ($17.75)
Hero ($28.75)
Button ($25)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J icon_suit_diamond.gif , J icon_suit_heart.gif . UTG posts a blind of $0.25.
MP raises to $0.75, Hero raises to $2.6, 1 fold, SB calls $2.50, UTG (poster) calls $2.35, 1 fold.

Flop: ($8.55) 6 icon_suit_heart.gif , 8 icon_suit_heart.gif , 4 icon_suit_club.gif (4 players)
SB bets $7, UTG folds, Hero...

Not much history with villain. Seems like a solid tag. Stats are 18/14/6. Haven't seen villain get out of line.
I couldn't think of any action that I could take here that I didn't hate.

I find these difficult too. He just called preflop, but bet out on the flop, which looks to me to be most likely 99-QQ. Its hard to see how anyother hand would connect with that flop, except maybe 88, but he generally wont lead out like that with top set. Basically you need to know if his overpair is bigger than yours. Raise and find out..

If I raise I can't fold if villain shoves. Say I raise 3x villain's bet, am I supposed to fold $5 more when shoved on?

He flat called a raise and a reraise, maybe hoped UTG would reraise PF. You've telegraphed your hand as a big PP, and the villain is looking for action; doesn't care. Especially with a villain who doesn't get out of line (and if that's true, he really wouldn't get out of line vs. two players), I think this is a hero fold.

I think most of this is true, but if villain thinks we'll 3-bet with position with hands like AK, AQ, then he can be making this play with 77-1010 as well.

If we were HU with villain, I'd read his lead as weak and shove. However, he's donking into two players - the board does have draws so he might not want to risk both of you checking behind. Hero fold on the flop.

I think his range here is always a PP that is trying to dodge flops from AK... I see, QQ, TT, 99, 77, and 55... and sometimes AK/AQ hearts.

you do the math.
