I just got home from a little 6 man tourney. We were 4 handed, I have about 3000 in chips, guy on my left has 1000, guy on my right has about 3600 and the other guy has about 4500. Blinds are at 40 80 and I'm on the button with two black queens. The guy on my right limps, I make it 480 which is a bit more than I normally would but the guy on my right seems to want to see every flop so I want to make him pay. Both the blinds fold, and the initial limper agonizes for a while then says I'll kick myself if I fold and eventually calls. Flop comes 8 6 3 with 2 hearts. He checks to me and I bet out 1000 he immediatly moves all in on me. I've only seen him move in once and he showed a set. So now there's about 4600 in the pot and I have around 1500 left. I agonized for quite a while before eventually making the call fearing a set. He turned over 8 6 and his hand held up. Is there any way to get away from this hand getting 3-1 or did I make a mistake somewhere else in the hand? ANy thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

He was an idiot to call a raise of 6x the big blind with 86 out of position. I think you played the hand fine, you just got unlucky. I think you should actually be happy because if this guy is calling huge raises with 86, just think about all the money you can make off of him in the long run :-)

Lol, your opponent is a fool certainly. You've got to think you're in a great position after the flop. More then likely he has a smaller over pair, two hearts, etcSet's possible...then there's 8-6 lol
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

In that situation i would have put your opponent on a smaller pair and he would have been putting you on two high cards and figured his hand was good. tough hand. Set is something you have to pay off especially heads up and there SHOULDN'T have been a two pair floating around. Just crap luck here my friend.
