Classic Movies

So post classic movies that you like, preferrably made prior to 1970. I'll start off with some that I own and like a lot.
Rear Window (1954)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047396/
This movie stars James Stewart and Grace Kelly (HOT). It's about a man who is injured in the war, and sits at his window in his wheelchair, and watches what goes on in the apartment building across from his. So he spies on his neighbors, and starts to see things that maybe people don't want him to see. This is an Alfred Hitchcock movie, and he is a master story teller, so I highly recommend this and almost all of his movies.
12 Angry Men (1957)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050083/
I watched this in a Leadership class, and it really shows how to deal with people who have different personalities/motives. 12 Angry Men stars Henry Fonda, who is known as Juror #8 in this courtroom drama. The case is about to be closed and a kid will be found guilty of murder, but Juror #8 tries to convince the jury to think things over. The movie then becomes less about the case but more about the jury members personalities. It may sound boring that the whole movie is set in the jury deliberation room, but the action didn't let up the whole entire way.
Spencer's Mountain (1963)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057523/
This is another Henry Fonda movie about a man's life with a large family. The plot to this movie is kind of hard to explain so just click on the imdb link and it will explain things better than I can. Anyways the scenery in this film is amazing, I think it was filmed somewhere in Wyoming. Definitely a movie the whole family would enjoy.

Classic Noir, I love that movie. I'll suggest another early Kubrick movie, "Paths of Glory". It's a remarkable movie about this division of French fighters in WW1 who all decide not to go over the trench and charge the Machine guns.. rather than shoot the whole division, they put three of them on trial to make an example of them. It just about has to be one of the earliest American anti-war movies.

I'll also suggest " A touch of Evil", an Orson Wells movie. It stars Charlton Heston as a mexican sheriff and dispite that, it's amazing.

You or someone once suggested I watch this, stating that Charlton Heston plays a Mexican sheriff. I failed to grasp somehow that this would mean Charlton Heston played a Mexican.
Good movie, though.

When I first read the title of this thread, my first thought was Rear Window. Great movie.

Paths of Glory is a great movie.
My favorite Kubrick movie is Dr. Strangelove. Peter Sellers is brilliant in it playing 3 different characters.
It has some of my favorite movie quotes ever.
I can no longer sit back and allow communist infiltration, communist indoctrination, communist subversion, and the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

Add "Double Indemnity" for some more great Noir dialogue. The Thin Man series is pretty good too.
