Well, yet another losing session in the regular home game. Two more bad sessions like this one and I'll be playing with my own money again...I am curious as to what other forum members think concerning the following (are they or aren't they bad beats...)1) Your ace king offsuit loses to Brad's King 7 when the king 7 gets a full house (on the flop). I raised from MP 4X BB. Thank goodness I played slow to eventually limit my losses... :club: 2) Your trip 3's (on the flop) loses to Brad's Ace 5 flush on the river...Raised 4X BB from CO, bet aggressive throughout, flop comes 3 :) 3 :D 7 :club: , turn is J :D , river is K :) . :club: 3) Your pair of queen's with an ace kicker loses to Tim's two pair, 6's and 4's, after flop comes queen six four rainbow. This one I raised 4X BB pre-flop, raised the pot on the flop, got pushed all-in and I decided to call. :club: 4) Your pocket jacks loses to Brad's Q 5 offsuit with a flop of 5 9 10 rainbow, turn is an ace, river is a queen. :club: These hands are not in any particular order, just the four big hands that I remember losing with some pretty good hands, to some absolutely crap hands (Brad is my arch-nemesis, always seems to beat me, no matter what I had. Lat game, his pocket queens busted my pocket aces. I won a grand total of one hand all night, that being the very first one (jacks full of aces). :-) Here's a sampling of the hands I elected to fold at one point or another that would have been hugely profitable.1) King 3 offsuit in the small blind. Paula, a newcomer to poker and someone who has only played with us twice so far, raised 7X BB from CO. Despite the fanfare that this hand has garnered on this site, I elected to fold. Flop comes K 3 3. Doh :!: Oh, and Paula ended up winning the hand somehow with her pocket nines. 2) 8 9 suited in BB, 5 limpers, we see a flop of 4 5 6 rainbow. I check, Lee bets, Brad raises, Tim re-raises, Keith calls. I elect to fold to all that action. Everyone calls. Turn comes a 7, river is an ace. Brads ace 8 wins with a straight, beating ace 4, ace 2, and trip sixes (I think that is what they had...). 2 re-buys and nothing to show for it (except my wallet being $60 lighter). I don't think I made any mistakes throughout the night math-wise, but results-wise I made plenty. It was definately one of the weirder nights. :?
