ExpectationMedia is filming an independent short documentary called “All-In Jesus: Faith and Poker” which will be part of a larger faith-based documentary DVD, “Faith Shall Be Sight” coming out this fall/winter. We are looking for three poker players competing in the World Series of Poker No-Limit Hold-Em Main Event, starting July 3rd at the Rio in Las Vegas. We would like to follow these players from start to finish, documenting their experience. You do not have to be a Christian to be part of this documentary, only a willingness to talk about faith, poker, and your views/experiences. The time commitment includes entry shots of you coming to Vegas/checking in, a 30 minute pre-tournament sit-down interview, 5-10 minute interviews after or before each day of the tournament, and a 20-30 sit-down after the tournament concludes. If you are interested, please contact Scott at scott@expectationmedia.com. Please include in the email name, age, city, cell phone number, date of arrival, and brief bio.Participation requires a signed media release (provided by EM). This is a non-paying role (we will not stake you) and no up-front money, though we will offer limited profit-sharing post production. Also, we are not michael moore and we will not take you, your words, or your experience out of context. ExpecationMedia is a small, independent Christian media company in Las Vegas.

FCP, make sure you get a piece of the proceeds. I expect this is a for profit film and any participation by the poker players should be compensated. Also, expect the filmmakers to have an agenda. If you don't fit in whatever slant they are taking, be aware that your image and words may be edited to make you look like a douche.

We'd love to get Daniel, but WSOP won't give us a press pass (for obvious reasons, and i get that its not neccesarily the group they want to highlight, so no hard feelings). We don't have any way to contact him directly, but yeah, it would be perfect. Him and Doyle, both Christians.

I think if you are serious , you can officially contact him through his agent and make him an offer..He is usually open to things as long as it doesnt take him away from his focus of winning tournaments.

May I ask one question? What is your ministry's view on Christian poker players?
Well, one of the guys helping to film is a professional poker player, but it's kind of a self-serve to use him, and he's not playing the main event. So our view of poker is just like anything else: if it's addictive to you, don't do it, but poker is not inheriently bad. What's your view of Christians and poker?

Well I'm a Christian and a youth pastor. So poker has always been something that I've struggled reconciling with my faith. I don't believe that there is anything specifically in the Bible that talks about gambling specifically, but the Bible does talk about being good stewards with our money.Bottome line: Some people go out to nice dinners and movies. Some go to sporting events and blow tons of money...for me, this is my outlet for entertainment.

I'm a pastor too...and yeah, its hard to explain to old-timers, and usually isn't worth bringing up

Very true...unless of course you have to go before the elder board, cause they already know everything anyway lol.

No, but only 3 and a half hours away. in Palm Springs CA. I am also not interested in the money as I am above material possesions, except really cool Bible's with lots of the 'right' verses highlighted to let everyone know how spiritual I am, obviously leather bound. But if you want an opinion about anything, I'm your man!Aren't Phil Ivey and Jennifer Harmon also both Christians? And Chip Reese was.(Didn't want to out them, but I thought they already were.)Really kind of surprisesd me to see so many top level players being Christians.Mainly because I have come to the conclusion that I personally could never become a cash game pro, I do not have it in me to take money from people that can't afford to lose it, and this would prevent me from being successful. Plus I'm terrible at cards, but I like the first excuse better.
