I don't know if it's been posted but effective 5/21/08, Pokerstars banned the use of ICM calculators during game play.

Quoted from here -
QUOTE
There are some programs which have legitimate uses for analysing your game, but which are not appropriate for use during play. For example, ICM (Independent Chip Model) and Nash Equilibrium tools may be used for post-game analysis and for studying hands which you have previously played. However, you may not use such a tool while the PokerStars software is open.

SSome examples of programs which are prohibited only while PokerStars is running are:

1. Insight Poker Hound
2. Sit n’ Go End Game Tools
3. SitnGo Wizard
4. SNG Power Tools
5. Spade ICM
6. STT Analyzer by PokerSoftwareTools

This list was last updated May 21st 2008.

I think this is silly.

But I just got end game tools and I am not good enough to use it while playing anyway.

I've never used software aids while playing. This may be why my results suck ass, but it'll help me in the long run...I hope.

Stop using software to help you win, you fags.

LOL That include Poker Tracker?

If so, that's just silly and you are leaving money on the table.

I agree that using software is llama.. it won't help your live games much..unless you never play on actually feeling felt..

Disagree completely.

But I also don't play 4 to 6 tables live either.

Online and Live are two different games. And I also disagree that using software will not help your live game. It helps you recognize certain player types, situations, etc... Which you can take to your live game. It's also a lot easier to spot those players and what they are doing live because the pace is slower and you should have less distractions.

If you purhcased PT in the past but no longer have that computer or whatever, you can just email them and they'll give you the activation code.

Rockin', thanks. Time to stop procrastinating...later.

I downloaded poker trakker the new version. All is does it clutter my screen and make it difficult to see some peoples chip totals. I play sit n gos. Not sure it can even help. I wish someone could write a three page memo on how to use it.

As far as the other stuff I'm glad it is banned.

Err.... wha?

The amusing part of this is: it only helps the good players.. The donk in seat 4 isn't aiming his buddy asking to crunch KT vs a shorty shove real kwik... Or even thinking anyone else would be doing that. If anything, the availability of such tools gives the donks an actual chance. I'm sure they'll ban AIM next. /sigh.

They should ban all chat progs, imo. It could compromise an already compromised info-sharing thing...

I didn't know you could use ICM programs while playing anyway.

It would be too tedious to type in your hole cards, all the chip stacks and your opponents range. Even it there's a program I'm not aware of that takes the HH and tracks the stacks, when short handed, how would someone type in the hole cards and range?

Yea the program I have seen scrapes that info off the screen for you. It's pretty freakin' advanced.

I don't play enough to use it or I would've gotten it a few months ago.
