Is it standard to bet pot all the time? Does betting less make it look as if I'm trying to suck him along, giving away that I have a strong hand?

It is not standard to bet pot all the time, but......I actually recommend you start off playing PLO by betting pot if you intend to bet. It is not always the best bet-size, but it is far from the worst (assuming it is a good idea to bet at all). Hands are much closer in value in PLO compared to NLHE (being a 60/40 favourite is considered a huge edge when the money goes in).I'm too tired to write more right now... and I'm about to go on a 10 hour road trip tomorrow (I'm going to a conference for a week)...I will add more next month.

In the hand you posted, I like a bet of ~$3. Try and price him in to draw at his flush maybe.I don't think it's necessary to bet full pot all the time.

Yeah i usually will bet 3/4 pot there. However you won't get any action there unless you take the same line with a draw.

BB has lots of money...I get greedy and go for a check raise.

I've thought about this, and it is my opinion that how much to bet depends on your range of hands. What hands would you bet in that spot and how much "should" you bet with those hands? In spots where the only hands you can have are very strong hands or total garbage, you should just bet the pot. In spots where you can have a variety of hands differing in strength, it makes more sense to bet smaller, down to 1/2 pot or even less. For example, if the board is something like 789, you're not usually going to be leading out from early position with anything other than a straight, so you may as well bet the full pot (if you choose to bet at all). But if it's checked to you on the button, you may take a stab at the pot with anything, so half-pot is fine (of course, you should bet the same amount whether you are bluffing or have the straight).As for the current hand, it seems to fall in the "nuts or nothing" category, so I would bet the full pot on the turn.
