I don't mind either pot/calling or checking. Both have positives, both have negatives. I would err on the side of checking, but I think it's close. I think a read could easily sway it to potting though.

I've seen soooooo many people play sets this way. As played and with no reads, I check behind on turn as well.

Check behind on the flop. I probably don't do this myself in the heat of the moment, but it seems to be the right play.The raise from the blinds followed by checking such a dry board looks highly suspicious to me. Anyway, our hand is not that great.EDIT - also, betting the turn doesn't seem that good, unless you're planning to bluff on a blank river.

This is getting to be a while ago now, so I don't remember exactly what I was thinking, but it was something like hoping to push him off an AA hand, with a good but not great draw that could stand to see another street if he called. Somehow combining my fold equity with a decent number of outs to make a +EV play. Does that make sense or an I on crack?I'll post results later from home.

This is not a bad line of thinking in general, but I don't think many villains will raise from the small blind and then check-fold on this flop. And when he calls the flop, the 8c doesn't really change much - if he liked his hand on the flop, he is not going to be scared off by this turn card. I guess I don't think you have much fold equity here, and you're at best a coinflip on both streets even when all your draws are live.

Now that I have over a thousand hands on this player, she's 50/20, so the PFR has a wide range, but the turn repot with 2 pair when I potted flop and turn??? There's aggro, then there's spew.And I got there. As it was, on the turn I was 45% because my clubs were good as well as all the straight card outs I had so maybe I did not mess it up too bad.
