711Buddha 0
Yesterday, the kids spent some time with the Grandma's so my wife and I went out to track for opening day and the Derby. We met some friends and had a great time, even won a couple of bucks, but the funny part of the story started the night before. I was reading over the racing form, and my kids asked about the Derby, so I was showing them how good the horses were etc. They asked if I was going to bet, and I explained that I was trying to find a horse I thought would be good. Then my 10 year old asked of she could bet. I offered to make a $2 bet for her and if she won, we'd split it. My 7 year old wanted in on it too.The ten year old picks lucky number 7 and my younger daughter gets mad because she's 7 and that's the number she wanted. Her Mom suggests that since he sister took 7, and her sister is 10 she should take that number...Well, that $2 bet paid $102.60. You should have seen her last night with her $51.30! You'd think she won a million. Anyway, so much for my elite handicapping skills, but a great story.
