Montana median income for 2005 - $38,503 Yeah we've done great under the Republicans
Well at least you will get to keep more of your income with Rebublicans!! To be fair I am going to have to think here that your income isn't going a whole lot reguardless who is in charge. I guess it is the price you pay for the remoteness you like to live in.

Its Montana, only Wyoming would have a smaller annual income number I would guess. What industry is there? Population?Unless you own a business or a Ranch I would guess there is not a lot of high paying positions in Montana.

you are right, it is america's money.you do know that the invasion and current occupation of iraq, as well as the afganistan invasion, is costing american taxpayers BILLIONS per month, right?these 'wars' are largely, if not solely, funded with loans, first time in american history.

You are correct sir. If we didn't have the problem with illegals we could conquer the Middle east and break even doing it.One question if we are invading why aren't we taking the oil for free? :club:

The "problem" with illegal aliens is due to the govt's attempt to legislate away the laws of supply and demand. Surprisingly, it doesn't work in the case of labor, either. But I'm sure any day now, a wise bureaucrat will figure out a way that THE basic premise of all economics will be bypassed by legislative fiat. The predominate tone of the debate -- blaming those who wish to make an honest living -- is offensive and racist.

first off, what do illegals have anything to do with what i said? u r trying to input your predetermined argument into what I wrote.second, r u actually trying to say that it wasn't an invasion of iraq? really, is that what u mean?third, the 'taking the oil for free' argument is quite possibly the most illogical and simplistic view spouted by those who deny the harm done. u don't see that?fourth, r u denying the IMMENSE COST of the 'wars'? u never did give a proper reply. u don't think BILLIONS of tax $$ wasted (incl. the massive interest costs) mean a lot?

You must've left off the list that shows how much this absolutely unneccesary war that was waged by a Republican administration (and wants to be continued for another 100 years by the next Republican candidate) costs in comparison. Hmmmm...

Since it's on borrowed money he figures he won't be around by the time the bill comes due. Either that or it will come due during a Democratic administration in which case he can blame it on them.

Unfortunately I think that's exactly what will happen. People tend to have very short memories.

The sad thing is those are just the quantifiable costs. If your child is being educated at a school that is in an area of heavy illegal alien activity you should be very worried. Your child is not getting the education they deserve and that is going to have a significant lasting detrimental impact on America.

Illegal aliens are not a problem, and imo most should be made legal so long as they can pass an English exam. Illegal aliens are not by nature more criminal than people born in America. People in desperate situations do desperate things. If they were legalized and allowed to get jobs they would not be so desperate. If they have the opportunity to be legal we can keep track of them, and that is better than having so many people trying to hide in the shadows trying to do whatever they can to make money. If they commit a serious crime, ship them back to where they came from. If you cannot understand the fact that immigrants are important to this countries economy then do some research.I am a Republican and I did vote for Bush twice.

A new president won't change much. Really the only promise any president can really keep is about the troops and what to do with them. And I don't really even trust a President to know too much in that area. A president can't change taxes or other money issues. That's for congress to debate.

I own a few acres in a rural hamlet located just outside of a 'micropolitan' Southern city. It's a real pretty little piece, right on a gold medal trout stream, got views of the rolling foothills- the whole nine. One of the 'advantages' is that the taxes are damn near nothing. Less than $100 a year, as long as I keep it unimproved. The property was actually sectioned off an old Civil War land grant and is technically 'unmapped' at the county level. So, figuring that sometime in the not too distant future, I might want to put a little cabin on it, I go to the county offices and start talking with the cubicle zombies there to see about a zoning exemption. The County Land Manager (we'll call him Cleatus) really has no idea about anything, so he sends me to mapping and planning. Of course, the Mapping and Planning man (lets call him Clem) doesn't know much. A few hypothesis, a booklet about ordinances for the unincorporated part of the county... Maybe I should go down to the courthouse and talk with them. I talk to the county attorney- a 28 year old kid, fresh out of "bottom of the barrel" law school (we'll call him Billy-Bob)... Billy Bob really can't tell me much, other than to suggest that maybe I contact the secretary of County Commissioner Bocephus. Behold the result of "low taxes" - low quality. In the city where I live for most of the year, there are similar troubles to be sure, including some that are unique- a huge amount of clueless affirmative action hires, long lines to get to someone who actually "knows anything", etc. But when I finally get through the line and to the 'expert' in charge? When I find out if I'm going to have any troubles putting a greenhouse on the vacant lot I own next to my house? I get my answer right f'ing there. I get papers and sheets telling me what protocols I need to follow. I get names, numbers, facts, figures, citations and efficiency. There's no question that the person I'm talking to knows WTF they're talking about. Obv, my taxes are much higher here.I am pro tax when I get good service for my money and that's what the taxes are going to pay for (yes, I do understand the libertarian fantasy about not ever needing permits for anything and when we get there, I'll carry that flag with you, but in the mean time, here we are in reality). I am anti-tax when I'm being taxed to fund social program nonsense or to create more government jobs for the sake of more government jobs (or, for basically anything else)When it's good roads, a higher IQ police force or hiring your young city attorney from U Chicago rather than Northern Illinois Agricultural and Mining College of Animal Husbandry and Law, I'm in favor of it.

You really didn't need to point out you were a republican because you just gave their stock response.Did you conveniently forget to include "illegal" in the above quote? I don't think anyone is going to argue that immigrants are not important to this country. If you meant illegal I'll agree that a good cheap disposable workforce is needed to a certain extent. I think we have enough of those people right here in the good ol US of A and they're legal to boot. Time to get them off of their $IV. What indirect cost do you associate the collapsing housing market due to illegal labor? If none, you need to do some more research. The numbers could potentially be mind boggling. Shipping them back to where they came from? You can't be serious. Talk about a complete and utter waste of time, money, and resources.

I agree with you to a certain extent scram. I am not anti-tax for the sake of being anti-tax.I actually voted for a bond measure for my community last year for the local schools. But I talked to the superintendent, I looked at the proposal and where the money was being allocated. I think federal tax needs to be much less and we need to take care of the communities we live in, and we can decide how those fund we raise as a community are used.

I think this sounds fine and dandy in theory and I agree with it to a certain extent, but I am living in a real world example of this right now and I am not sure I like it. I live in north Fulton county in Georgia. I say "north" because Fulton county has to be one of the most gerry-meandered counties in the entire country. In the past few years we have had at least two new cities created, one of which I now live in, and these cities have been trying to form their own counties as well. Basically all due to fights over where tax dollars are spent. No one up here thinks they should have to contribute to any of Atlanta's issues. So let's say every area in every county that includes somewhere that may be undesirable decides to annex themselves. Where does that leave the areas most in need?Oh, and thanks to what some people are calling simple cronyism my new city lost seven figures due to a filing mistake by the new tax commissioner who resigned without even a year under his belt.

First I am not saying zero federal tax dollars should go to the states and counties.Second, these are issues that could be helped better if the local governments were given more power because you would have more community involvment if they could actually implement change. As far as cities eing annexed, that has been a problem forever, not sure what the solution is.

In a position to take care of themselves without any outside meddling? At the bottom of this "discussion" lies a tacit understanding- a wink and a nod to the notion that Negroes are incapable of doing anything on their own as a whole and it's up to us as 'well off whites' to go in and take care of them; to intercede and alleviate the results of what largely stems their own horrendous collective, cultural decision-making. Guns, germs and steel aren't in play here.
