rvrchsrhtr 0
I was totally stuck at the time trying to figure out the right move. Is there a better way to play it?PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha/8, $0.05 BB (5 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)MP ($7.72)Button ($26.10)SB ($9.46)Hero ($6)UTG ($6.33)Preflop: Hero is BB with Q, 5, K, 4. 1 fold, MP raises to $0.1, Button calls $0.10, SB calls $0.08, Hero calls $0.05.Flop: ($0.40) 7, 5, 9(4 players)SB bets $0.15, Hero calls $0.15, MP calls $0.15, Button calls $0.15.Turn: ($1) K(4 players)SB bets $0.15, Hero raises to $0.
antistuff 0
this might sound weak, i just fold the flop. you have nothing to win here and everything to lose.
Frez 0
I don't even call PF if someone makes a real raise. Flop is a super easy fold with nothing and people to act behind.

So the concensus is fold as it's just not worth it?
KoRnholio 2
Having the K and Q of spades hurts us, since it's one less xth nut flush for someone else to have. The best we can hope for is someone to call with a J or T high flush here.Usually I will just call again on the turn since we're only really getting called by sets or the nuts. If we raise this turn, I'm not putting more money in the pot at all (unless the SB makes another tiny bet).

jmbreslin 0
I probably fold this PF since I'll be OOP with a hand that doesn't have a whole lot of potential, but calling the minraise to see the flop isn't terrible. However, with a hand like that you pretty much need to hit the exact flop you're looking for to make it worthwhile. Here you've flopped the 2nd nut flush and have virtually no low potential, which is a dangerous hand to be continuing with.I don't see any reason to raise the turn because you're not likely to scare away a good low draw and you're already behind the nut flush. The good thing about that turn card is that you've picked up a draw to the full house (the 2P on their own isn't worth much here), so I'd probably just call the donkbet and see if I can fill up on the river. In the end you're most likely going to end up throwing away money, which is why it's better to fold PF in the first place.

antistuff 0
the presence of a low draw makes this an even easier fold. you might put a bunch in and have a low come and get bluffed of the best hand. even bad players who don't understand they are doing that to you will accidentally do it a lot here. and as far as preflop goes, yea this is a fold. if you are going to play crappy hands play 4567 or even 89tj. those hands stand a chance of actually winning something if you play them expertly. this hand does not. jmbreslin 0
The point is, where are you hoping to go with this hand? You can't play any hand to a minraise in the BB just because you're getting a good price. PLO8 isn't like NLHE, where you can justify playing ATC with the right pot odds because even ATC can flop big and win you a nice pot. In PLO8 you're more likely to get sucked into continuing with a hand that will cost you money because you'll end up with (or chasing) something that is destined to be second or third best. With that hand you're basically looking for one type of flop: A2x, where the Ace and one of the others are both spades. Virtually anything else is potential trouble.

Virtually anything else is potential trouble.or any high connected flop or any lo connected flop. I agree playing weak hands from any position not only OOP can get you in to some real trouble l8r in the hand, but I feel like I play well enough post to get away from hands when I'm beat a good majority of the time. When playing short handed a much larger % of pots are taken down with out nut hands, and raises preflop with wide ranges are standard at least at the limits I've been playing so I tend to defend my blinds a little light (prob a leak honestly). In fact in SSII in the advanced section it is recomended 2 way hands with lo draws as weak as 23 should be raised often preflop. I got the one flop that was prob hardest for me to play with lo draw present and made 2nd nut flush I just thought folding was to weak and if I waited for the river to show any kind of aggression I was still going to be lost in knowing where I was at. If I raise the turn like I did I can at lest get a feel there of what kind of hands I'm against, but I'm also bloating the pot and have no lo draw to fall back on. So in closing it worked out and yes maybe I should've just folded it preflop, but after I see a flop I'm still not sure I played it optimally
