Weird Hand With Tptk

Recommended Posts

I was pretty lost after the flop, only thing I could see beating me was KJ or 55. Read is that the player is very donkish, seen him do some crazy loose/bad thins both preflop and post. Is his range big enough to go to war here?9 man SNGHero's Stack: 1,870UTG's Stack: 2,195Full Tilt (7 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Kdiamond.gif, Aheart.gif. Best I can put hi on is KJ - the rest is wishful thinking on his part. 55 should have moved on the turn with a ck-r as should have KJ but slowplayers are weird anyhow. I just think the river push looks like a bluff.Your flop bet is too weak imo - 400-500 would be my C-bet b/c any C-bet that is the same or smaller than my pre-flop bet/raise looks like more weak than I want it to - i.e - "damn I missed the flop!" so unless I hit it hard - like 2 pair or trips and I want it to look weaker, I always move the scale up from my pf raise.

Why did you leave out QT suited from his range?I would have shut down after he called the flop bet. Theres too much unknown in this hand to think that TPTK deserves a value bet. I agree with the criticism that checking the turn allows a free card, but it may be us who needs the free card, not villain! If stacks were much deeper Id lead the turn, but here the turn bet is pot committing.

I did b/c it makes no sense to just call the turn bet and then push all-in on the river with a make str8. You'd expect a ck-raise instead. But fish will do some funny things sometimes although this still looks like a bluff or 2nd pair going for the gold ring. Gotta call that push.

I don't like your bet sizes. On the flop the pot is $720 and you're betting $300. On the turn the pot is $1320 and you're betting $500.I bet $500 on the flop, and then shove our final $1070 on the turn.

I would have shut down after he called the flop bet.
I think that would be a huge mistake. We have one pot sized bet left, and no indication that our hand is behind. Are you folding to a river bet/shove? If so, it's massively weak tight and loses a ton of equity. If not, then why not bet or shove the turn? Why give JT a free chance to hit a 9 outer?

Absolutely Im folding to a river bet. I dont think its weak tight at all, its realistic given the board.

I dont think villain c/r this river with a flush, he pushes it for value, hoping you made your straight and make a crying call. If he checks you just check behind.

Bet $500 on flop, ship turn.As played, bet like 3/4 your stack or w/e on the turn and call shove(obv). But really, bet more on the flop.

The ck-r would have happened on the Turn - not the river!

Thanks for all the replies. I probably should have bet more on the flop, at the time I believe my thinking was that a bigger bet wouldn't have changed his action other than to make him fold a few things I was beating that might call a flop bet (TT, QQ). I didn't even have QTs in his range at all, had I thought of that I would have bet more.Villain actually ended up having 5h4h. Huge donk, I probably got somewhat lucky but by the river I had a feeling that a fair part of his range (25-30% maybe) was ridiculous shit/bluffs like that. I was honestly a little worried about 67.

This is my line although I prob pot the flop.

it's pretty hard to think about playing logically when you are up against a guy who stacked it off with 5 4 suited on that board when you raised preflop and bet the whole time...... :club:
