Granted you had a great drawing hand on the flop, but the fact of it is you were drawing to 2 outs on the turn. I personally don't see how this is any different than holdem. By that point you were guaranteed to play your 56c, and it's highly unlikely he had both a made flush and boat draw, so his hand was already Axc forced. So with the exception of having another 2 known dead cards, how is this different than hold'em in terms of hitting your thin draw?

It's a hold'em hand alright. Only 2 cards seriously played from the flop. That was just a bit of luck for you. Nothing about the hand has any Omaha features. But hey, I loooove Omaha too.........

i didn't want to flame, but i definitely agree with the previous posters... you got pretty lucky, and this hand doesn't really symbolize why omaha is great at all. you had no business being in the hand anyway... J-6-5-2 isn't exactly a great starting hand, you were really just playing two cards on the flop, and you were drawing to two outs on the turn...aseem

omaha is awesome, but hand converters are even better.

I too love Omaha, but I don't know if I would go boasting about playing J562. Yeah, you won the hand, but you were extremely fortunate. If I were you I'd read a few things about Omaha (TJ has a great book called Championship Omaha, and the Omaha chapter in Supersystem 2 is good as well), namely about hand selectiion. I could see if yo were in the BB and this was an un-raised pot, but calling with that hand is simply horrible.

yeah omaha section in ss2 is great. i love omaha because many online players that play it dont know what they are doing. if you play correctly and draw to the nuts you can often destroy people like the original poster. seems like there are more coin flip situations however what i really like is that many times players call your large bets with or chasing the 2nd best hand.it can be very profiable if you select the right games.
