Hey guys,
I'm looking for a poker room that has SNG's. Do most casino's along the strip have these set ups? Where do you guys recommend to play for SNG's. Also I'm looking to see if there is any place I can purchase Poker affiliated merchandise
along the strip. Looking for PokerStars/FullTilt/PhilHelmuth Gear, nothing specific. Is there such a store or gambling merchandise storefront in Vegas?

Mandalay Bay was running them when I stayed there about in early 2007, but I didn't go back in October when I was there.

I usually play cash games, but would like to try these SNG's. It seems these are not very common at the casino's. So is it really that rare to find SNG's in casino's on the Vegas strip? How about old Vegas?
Is it possible to request a Poker room manager to set-up a SNG if there is an interest? Has anyone here ever done that in Vegas?

Click here. There's quite a few. The structure isn't the greatest for them usually. The play pretty fast, but most casinos have them now.

When the casino's post the BUY IN--Let's say it's $100; then they state Admin Fee of $25, does that mean the total is $125.00 or is it included in the BUY IN already??? I'm referring to the link at:

Also some tourney's stated have an "%return" column. Does this mean the higher % are better to play for money to be WON?

Buy-in includes the fee.
$100 Buy-in - $25 Fee = $75 + $25 in online terms
%return is just what portion of the buyin goes to the prize pool. $75 + $25 = 75% return
In general you'll find that SNGs are hard to come by. Even places that offer them don't often run them in reality. I've seen them run maybe once or twice at MGM in probably 60-70 hours of play.

SNGs have horrible structures. They will start you with about 1200 chips and start ten minute levels at 25-50

I play a ton of sng's online, but I am hardly an expert.
I am pretty sure that most live sng's are statistically unbeatable longterm due to the rake. I could be talking totally out of my ash, but I am pretty sure that unless u run at like 40% roi...they are impossible to beat.
I am too retarded to do the math so if a math guy wants to help explain it better....cool.

I think I played a $60/$10 SNG at the Mirage last summer. I registered for it, sat at a $3/$6 game, racked up $85 in 25 minutes waiting for it to fill, then free rolled it. That was my ONLY live SNG experience.

SnG structures in Vegas are awful, don't bother. If you want to play tournaments, cough up the extra bucks and play the good ones. You'll just be disappointed in the lottery-like low buyin and SnG stuff.

Binions had them from about $80 to $1000(at least thats what thye advertised). I believe these were winner take all.

There are lots of casino/poker rooms with smaller field tournaments that would play more like a multi-table sit n go. Last year I played a few at the Sahara that had 45-75 people per tournament.
