Merby 3
Fold turn facing the 3-bet. You are drawing to 2 outs over 95% of the time.I raise this PF around 90% of the time (you're only OOP to button, who limped), then raise flop and hand plays much easier.
jmbreslin 0
I'm not sure I understand your play here - why would you call down on the flop, but then raise and push a turn card that could only have worsened the relative strength of your hand? On the flop you're behind only 2 hands (55xx and 75xx) and have 2 or potentially 5 outs to hit a higher boat if you're behind. But on the turn you're now behind 55xx, 75xx, JJxx, and J7xx and only have one chance left to hit one of your few outs. So...1) I'm probably pot-raising the flop2) As played, I'm calling down the original bet on the turn and not raising
Merby 3
LOL at my comment about folding turn: I missed the '7' in your hand.My other comments still stand. Raise PF (90 % of the time) and raise flop.

jmbreslin 0
My other comments still stand. Raise PF (90 % of the time) and raise flop.Raise PF when Hero will be OOP (assuming Button calls) with a hand that is basically just AAxx? Neither of the Aces are suited and the two other cards are useless danglers.
DonkSlayer 1
I think I agree with JmBreslin that a raise PF only gets us value, and doesn't make the hand play any easier unless we flop huge. Especially given stack sizes going into this hand.Raise the pot on the flop. As played, flat-call turn. If we get to the point where you raised and then got repotted, I'm not sure I lay it down quite as often as if I'm always drawing to two outs, but I lay it down at least 60% of the time. Depending on my read of the player, this reraise is either a ton of strength or someone mad at themselves for slowplaying the nuts on the flop.
bdc30 0
Sigh. Raise preflop. Why are you sitting there with ½ stack and NOT raising AAxx? If you're going to play shortstack - WHAT hand exactly are you waiting for?Button limped (that's UGLY weak) and SB limped (standard) - RAISE IT for the love of God. You'll have position on SB anyway, and we already know the button can't be all that strong.Once you DO raise preflop, and flop trips, BET THE POT. Frig, even as played, HOW do you not raise the flop? It's a $1.50 pot that the SB minbets in to. YOU HAVE TRIPS- RAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE.

bdc30 0
If we were deeper, I understand why we may want to just see a cheap flop. When we're shortstacking (which I despise, by the way) and will have position on the SB, who has a massive stack, I don't see any reason not to start to build a pot here.90% of shortstacking strategy can be summed up in two EASY steps.1. Wait for AAxx in any position2. Mash "pot" and "raise" buttons simultaneously as often as software allows
Wingman008 0
You want to raise PF because of the massive weakness showed. If the flop comes uncoordinated then there's a good chance you can take it down right on the flop. Why aren't we raising the flop?
