OK, 3 major questions I'm trying to figure out from this post.
1) Was the 3-bet good/bad?
2)Was the fold good/bad?
3) Am I understanding pot odds correctly, or at least somewhere in the right ballpark?

Reads: UTG+1 tends to open-limp hands like JTs, QJ, KTs, etc. from EP and hopes it doesn't get raised. MP1 is pretty LAG.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (9 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)

MP3 (t2370)
CO (t6500)
Button (t3400)
SB (t10435)
Hero (t4460)
UTG (t1570)
UTG+1 (t2290)
MP1 (t22155)
MP2 (t745)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A icon_suit_club.gif , Q icon_suit_heart.gif .
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t200, MP1 raises to t400, 5 folds, Hero raises to t1200, UTG+1 raises to t2290, MP1 calls t1890, Hero folds.

I didn't take into account what kind of odds I was getting cause I was sure I was dominated, but looking over my hands later I did the math: 2290 (how much UTG+1 has put into the pot) + 2290 (How much MP1 has put in the pot) + 1200 (how much I have put in the pot) + 100 (The SB) = 5880. I have to call 1090 to win 5880, thats better than 5:1. I figure for UTG+1 he must have KK+ to limp/shove in this situation, and best case scenario MP1 has AJ+ (based on my read), so best case scenario for me is KK vs AJ vs AQ which leaves me a 6:1 dog at best. So still a fold right?

Any/all advice welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!

Well, most importantly, we didnt go 8-0 against the Devils. They kinda stole back all of the momentum from the season in 1 game. But I still plan on being back there for the San Jose/Rangers finals!

Yes, the 3 bet was good, you dont want to be out of position to 2 players. Your odds calculation also looks correct, though I didnt check it down to the last chip.

I dont see the level this is at. I dont see limp/pushes with monsters ever at 33+ buyins. I suppose as short as he is he could be desperate for action, but i dont think you can put him on that narrow a range. Id say 77+, AQs, AK. The middle pairs are in his range because he can be putting you and MP on Aces. Youre about a 2:1 dog to him and would be getting 3:1 odds or so if MP1 hadnt stuck his head in the vice.

But now look at MP1...he was getting something like 2.5:1 odds, with some risk with you left to play behind him, but hes the big stack, and its very hard for him to pass up on those odds. He also min-raised, which he isnt going to do with a very big hand. Its inviting some decent sized stacks in behind him and if hes any good hed rather isolate with a big hand and vaccuum up UTG+1's chips without contest. His range includes some weakish suited Aces, KQ, JTs+ on top of UTG+1s range, but take away AA, KK, QQ and AK.

That puts you only 3:1 dog to beat them both, and the weaker of the two hands is in with you for the side pot if you call, and youre probably a small favorite over him. If you just call and miss the flop hes going to put pressure on you if you check out of position.

I would push all in here. Its a high risk play, but huge reward if it goes all the way, and with a decent middle ground result possible.

I would fold here as all your chips are going into the pot after the flop. You have potentially two big hands that are crushing you. Especially, the MP1 min-raise and then his flat call of UTG+1's all-in knowing that a preflop aggressor who still has last action who can easily shove reeks of strength.

I like the RR preflop but with that action after your RR, I'm out.

I agree. In a multiway pot AQ just doesn't play as well. It can be crushed by so many hands. Obv, if UTG+1 shoves, if MP1 folds, its an insta call. As is I like to get out of the way. But I'm a nit.

For the record this was in a .25 on pokerstars. As for UTG+1's range I think your right about it being a lot wider than I thought. I'd say its possible that he has a pp 77-TT or maybe even AK (if he's one of these strange people who think AK isn't strong enough to openraise but is strong enough to limp/raise) and is trying to get HU with me. But then wouldn't that narrow MP1's range to something like AQs+ when he just flat calls since he must think he's going to be getting his money in a 3 way pot? Also MP1 is pretty LAG so a min raise from MP seems a little off. Or do the odd's I'm getting offset the fact that I'm probably crushed by only 1 hand here?

And most importantly I don't feel too bad about not going 8-0, we came back strong and had the devils and all 8 of their fans holding their breath. We pretty much have home ice anyway as there are going to be more of us at these games then Devil's fans anyway. Go Rangers! icon_dance.gif

No, I dont think MP1's range narrows very signficantly because he didnt attempt to isolate at his first chance.

Have you been to the Pru Center? It cant be worse than Continental but it doesnt look like anything special. My son played on a team with Vanderbeek's kid. He's actually a decent guy despite the money and being the owner of the Devil's lol.

No I haven't been there yet. Suppose to be a "nice" arena but like you said, nothing special. Not to mention it's in such a horrible area.
