DonkSlayer 1
Playing particular hands has to do with position, stack and table texture. Absolutely. This post applies to 6-max PLO, mostly 100max, btw.Given that, I tend to limp a lot with naked and semi-naked AA hands, only raising when I have AAJK or AA doublesuited with something like 67/910. I'm always reraising someone who raises my AA raise.BUT, one thing I've been doing a lot over the last few days is limp/reraising with AA. This folds a ton of limpers/raisers when they have shorter stacks, but when I have 1-3 deep stacks behind me who are in for the first raise already, I end up playing a huge pot. I need to flop pretty much perfectly to not get pwned with 2 callers. Often I get into trouble with just one. Do we like this strat, in general, on how to play aces in 6-max? Do you always raise the pot with AA, even when you're the first in, especially OOP? Brag post: 3 times today, I've limped/reraised with AAxx, got it allin on the flop with a caller who was ahead, and then rivered an A, either filling up or making a better set. Sick, sick, sick true story.
jmbreslin 0
Sounds like it's been working for you but I think the problem with limp-reraising AAxx in PLO is the same as in NLHE: it telegraphs your hand to your opponent. And doing it is more dangerous in PLO because you won't have the benefit of being an 80/20 fav.Bottom line is that I think you need to play AAxx the same way you play other raising hands to disguise your cards. bdc30 0
And doing it is more dangerous in PLOYou're partially right about that, however the reason that it's more dangerous has less to do with not being a 4/1 fav and more to do with the fact that we're playing a pot limit game. In NLHE, you can get your whole stack in the middle with the limp/reraise, but for PLO, even with a limp/reraise it's tough to get more than 20-25% of your stack in preflop, and you'll be OOP for the whole rest of the hand.Just play it like you play all your other raising hands. BudBundy 0
I usually like limping from early positions , and 3-bet a short stack raise. I usually flat call a decent sized stack raise tho. You ll bet fold or check fold so many hands that it ll eventually put you on tilt.3-bet in position with a wide selection of hands. T975ds , QJT8 etc. Then 3 betting AAxx in position will be very profitable because people will start playing back at you on Ace high flops. Also since you are in position , you will have the option to take a free card because they usually go for a check raise on flop.

Too many people at my limits are loose/bad or weak/tight for this to be uber profitable I think.
bdc30 0
Note that he said "in position". You can 3bet the right opponents very profitably from co or btn when you know how they play. 3betting from the blinds however is something that can eat up a lot of money in this game. Position in omaha is so huge.
BudBundy 0
There is nothing wrong with occasionally pushing non aa hands preflop. Especailly if 2 players are either all in or probably going all in when its their turn before you.8765ds is a favourite against AA94r and many ds connectors and one or two gappers are in great shape against 2 AA hands or 2 players with AA and KK. I don't even mention the table image advantages.Don't be afraid to 3-bet the right people preflop in position. 3 betting a 56/1/1.17 with KKJT will suck of course cus he will 4 bet you %99 of the time. Look for people with high PFR stats. Also always know who is tilting snd who is not. Tilters will 4-bet you a lot with non AAxx hands.
