Metternich 0
I think a c/f seems too weak, you're still tied/ahead here most of the time. I think that a c/c line is probably best, unless he shoves or something in which case you can fold.DISCLAIMER: I've only seriously played Omaha a few times. This post is honestly more for me than it is for you.
bdc30 0
Other option is a blocker bet - still probably folding to a shove. oop sucks and I hate getting trapped in these spots from bb.
jmbreslin 0
Why the check-call on the flop? Why not lead out or check-raise?And how do you interpret his half-pot lead on the turn? Strange that he'd lead 1/2 pot and then call a huge check-raise.
TRB05 1
Any particular reason for the check/call on the flop? Waiting for a safe turn I assume? He sure played it like a set. I like the blocker bet play. I think a set, may pay off a 1/3 pot bet, and you can fold to a shove, only getting ~2.5-1, which has to be a flush almost always. If you bet 1/2 the pot, you'd be getting about 3.2-1 (I think), making a fold a little harder but I think you're beat more than 75% of the time.Being OOP Sucks.Edit - jmbreslin beat me to the c/c flop question, I type slow. bdc30 0
Check called waiting for a safe turn, as you mentioned. I had a shit hand with NO redraw potential and any card 7 or higher that would have hit the turn I could get away from it.
jmbreslin 0
How is the flopped nut straight on a rainbow board a shit hand? Granted you have no improvers but isn't it worse to give a free card here? Or is it because there are so many cards that can hurt you on the turn that it's not worth betting the hand?
bdc30 0
there are so many cards that can hurt you on the turn that it's not worth betting the hand?ding ding ding. I can't put in enough to chase anyone off, and 85% of the deck are bad cards for me (anything higher than a 6, paired or not)
David_Nicoson 1
ding ding ding. I can't put in enough to chase anyone off, and 85% of the deck are bad cards for me (anything higher than a 6, paired or not)The situation didn't really get better when you see the turn card and he bets. On the flop, at least you had a 3-flush.

I can't put in enough to chase anyone off, and 85% of the deck are bad cards for me (anything higher than a 6, paired or not)In that case, why continue with the hand at all? Why not just fold to his bet on the flop?
bdc30 0
Folding the flop with only one other opponent is uber weaksauce. If UTG had bet and UTG+1 had called (or even worse raised) then I could find a fold.
BudBundy 0
FD on flop and i can go for a check call.Rainbow flop , i am repotting all day.
DonkSlayer 1
I think I"m half-potting here. I really feel like villain just has a set or top two. Seems like a good spot to pick off a bluff by c/c as well.
TRB05 1
Check called waiting for a safe turn, as you mentioned. I had a shit hand with NO redraw potential and any card 7 or higher that would have hit the turn I could get away from it.Well I was thinking that this may be a major leak of mine (ie always raising in this spot, nuts no redraw) but then....FD on flop and i can go for a check call.Rainbow flop , i am repotting all day.hmmm, he makes a good pointSo you wouldn't fold the nuts ever? or if there is way too much action then OK to fold nuts (say FD is present)?
BudBundy 0
I am folding nuts here if FD is present and there is a pot and repot before me. Btw i don't like leading this flop. We rarely get value from worse hands and we never make a better hand fold. After half potting river , will we be able to fold against a raise?I like checking and inducing a bluff in spots like these. I sometimes pay off a BD flush but i think i win more than i lose in the long run.
antistuff 0
i think depending on the opponent this is an excellent spot for a blocking bet (15 or 20). if not that then check/call.
BudBundy 0
So you want to bet $15 or $20 on river leaving us $15 or $20 stack and then fold to a raise? $15 to call for $70?By check calling we can go to showdown aprox for the same price while getting value from bluffing hands which normally folds to our blocker bet. Merby 3
I like check-calling the river against aggressive opponents. This is a good spot to pick off bluffs. Against a passive opponent, I like a half-pot value bet on the river and folding to any raise.I would definitely check-repot this rainbow flop, then lead pot on that turn card. BudBundy 0
I just can't understand the bet fold line on river. We will bet $15 and pot will be around $60-$70 and we will fold to a raise leaving us around $15.

timwakefield 69
Haven't read responses. I am definitely not trying to check-fold that. I mean it's totally player-dependent or read-dependent so it's really hard to say what to do. I mean, we could lead knowing that he is super tight and only raising the nuts (allowing us to try to see a cheapish showdown). Or maybe he loves to bluff so we definitely don't want to lead (we want to check-call), etc. If he had flopped the flush draw I would be much more inclined to check-fold. I'm not saying check-fold is bad, but it's definitely not a certainty.EDIT: The more I think about it, the less I like check/fold. I think we bet/fold or check/call and I lean heavily toward the latter.
Frez 0
Or is it because there are so many cards that can hurt you on the turn that it's not worth betting the hand?I think this is much less of a factor on a rainbow flop.
