The scenario is that the board reads J-9-10-Q. There's no chance for a flush. Guy to my right bets $1.50 (about the size of the pot). I raise to $3 and the other guy in the hand folds. River brings an A and it's obvious we're going to split. I tell him that, since it's obvious we're going to split, just check it down so we don't run up the rake. If I'm wrong, I'm willing to sacrifice the extra money because I'm very sure we're going to split. This ****** goes all in. Another $30. He then types in, "Then just fold." WTF? Seriously, what kind of dumbass volunteers to lose money? This just pisses me off... Link to post Share on other sites

bobbywithani 0 Posted May 6, 2005 Share Posted May 6, 2005 Yes yes I hate that, I mean I play limit but it happens all the time there, mainly when there are three people on the river and we all have the same straight. They just lose us money on the rake. However when you have the nut low and high in O8 and the other guy just has the low, sometimes he will keep raising to get 1/4 of the pot when it should be obvious to him you are splitting, that is awesome. He probably thought you had the 8, and wanted to try and showdown for free just in case he didnt have the K. Try and look at it from his point of view.
