The AHL commish did one like this a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it. I PM'd him a week ago and asked if it'd be cool if I ran it, and he didn't get back to me, so meh. I'm running it anyways!

You have to pick 16 hitters, 7 starters and 7 closers. For the hitters, the only stat you need to worry about is homeruns. For starters, you need to focus on wins, and for closers, you'll need saves. The year will be broken down into weekly sections (Monday to Sunday), and as long as your hitter hits a homerun during the week, he survives and moves on to the next week. If your starting pitchers get a win, they survive, and if your closers get a save, they survive.

Your players get points based on how many homeruns, wins or saves they get during the week, and in what # week they do it. For example: In Week 1, your hitter (Hank Aaron) hits 2 homeruns. He survives and moves on to Week 2, and he also receives 2 points. In Week 2 he hits another 2 homeruns. He survives again, and receives 4 points for an overall total of 6. In Week 3, he gets no homeruns and is eliminated, and finishes with 6 points. This goes the same for your starters regarding wins, and your closers regarding saves.

** Now for the good part: You can't pick 2 players from the same team. All 30 MLB teams have to be represented on your squad.

This isn't a draft. You can pick any 30 players you want, providing they fit the criteria above (all 30 MLB teams repped. with 16 hitters, 7 starters, 7 closers).

It'll most likely be for $20 with the top 2 teams getting paid, or winner take all.

Week 1 will run from Sunday, March 30 - Sunday, April 6. After that, each week will be Monday - Sunday. If it makes it to the All Star Week, then the 4 day all star week will be combined with the following week. Any interest? Any questions?

There are 2 games that take place in Japan that won't count towards the pool. The entry deadline will be 6:00 PM EST on Sunday, March 30th.

You can send your entries to vlaming8748@rogers.com I will take Paypal, and the email address is the same. I can also take a PokerStars transfer. My ID is MapleLeafs (Newmarket)

When I go to a fast food restaurant, and my order comes to $6.28, I like to give the cashier $18.71. They look at me and say 'What's this?' and I say 'I'm all in'. They usually fold.

I'll set it at 6:00 PM EST on Sunday, March 30th. I've edited the OP to reflect this and for payment options.

Sounds cool, I'm not making any promises but I'll see if I can get myself motivated enough to make picks.

There should be. I'm hoping to get between 15-20 minimum. More would be great.

If the Ottawa Senators win the Cup:

- I will donate $200 to the Daniel Alfredsson clown academy
- I will not watch hockey for a a period of 12 months
- I will wear a Senators jersey and say I am a Senators fan while walking up and down Yonge Street
- I will praise the city of Ottawa and their fine hockey team for a period of 1 year
- I will acknowledge that hell has finally frozen over
- I will cancel LeafsTV and NHL Centre Ice Package
- I will also give my fantasy team for a total of one year to an associate

I am in - will send you my picks before sunday.

One question.........

I do recall when I ran this of the 16 hitters you had to have 1 at each position

5 outfielders, 2 catchers, 1 each of 1b, 2b, 3b, ss + 1 other 1st or 3rd, 1 other 2nd or ss and 3 utility

(that just makes all the roster more likely to be different and makes it a little tougher)

what do you think?

Honestly, I don't recall that aspect at all. It's too late to change now, unfortunately as I've already started to receive a couple entries from people who are going away.

How many so far, this sounds like a fun pool.

Also any trades allowed in case of injury. Do we have reserves.
