You have to pick 16 hitters, 7 starters and 7 closers. For the hitters, the only stat you need to worry about is homeruns. For starters, you need to focus on wins, and for closers, you'll need saves. The year will be broken down into weekly sections (Monday to Sunday), and as long as your hitter hits a homerun during the week, he survives and moves on to the next week. If your starting pitchers get a win, they survive, and if your closers get a save, they survive.
Your players get points based on how many homeruns, wins or saves they get during the week, and in what # week they do it. For example: In Week 1, your hitter (Hank Aaron) hits 2 homeruns. He survives and moves on to Week 2, and he also receives 2 points. In Week 2 he hits another 2 homeruns. He survives again, and receives 4 points for an overall total of 6. In Week 3, he gets no homeruns and is eliminated, and finishes with 6 points. This goes the same for your starters regarding wins, and your closers regarding saves.
** Now for the good part: You can't pick 2 players from the same team. All 30 MLB teams have to be represented on your squad.
This isn't a draft. You can pick any 30 players you want, providing they fit the criteria above (all 30 MLB teams repped. with 16 hitters, 7 starters, 7 closers).
It'll most likely be for $20 with the top 2 teams getting paid, or winner take all.
Week 1 will run from Sunday, March 30 - Sunday, April 6. After that, each week will be Monday - Sunday. If it makes it to the All Star Week, then the 4 day all star week will be combined with the following week. Any interest? Any questions?
There are 2 games that take place in Japan that won't count towards the pool. The entry deadline will be 6:00 PM EST on Sunday, March 30th.
