The Villain had only played 15 hands or so, seemed kinda' loose postflop, overplayed top pair twice. Not related to the hand: buy in for the max, unless you're a short stack player, then leave if you've double or tripled up already:pAs for the hand...I might be dumping it on the river. I know you said he overplays top pair, but what is he putting you on that he thinks you'd bet 2 times and then fold on the river? The obvious answer is a missed floosh draw, but there's 3 to a flush and 4 to a straight out there. AsXs is a perfectly find hand to raise pf. 99 is perfectly okay. Could he have As9x? I mean there are a lot of hands out there that beat us. If he had AsAx or KsKx or even QsQx, don't you think he's raising the flop? ANd he called two pot sized bets on the flop and turn. I just don't see him putting in $40 to fire a $40 bluff on the river.

I think you fold this preflop. You kinda have to go with it once you hit two pair short handed. Turn bet is kinda huge, could be smaller. Turn and river are terrible. I think you bet less on the turn and lay it down when he pushes on the river.

Fold preflop. Playing suited connectors out of position is -EV.I don't think the rest of the hand was too bad. On the river, the bet is so small compared to the pot size, I would call too. He could have like A8 with the ace of spades.

yeah, I always play full stack. I lost the hand before this one, and just didnt reload in time (didnt expect to lose it kinda' so didnt press reload in the middle of the hand). thanks for the advice anyways.I agree that the turn bet is too big. I really totally forgot about any kind of pot control in this hand.I am not sure about folding preflop. SB is a tight player calling a bet, he might have a hand that will really pay me off if i hit with my suited connector, and i was kind of thinking Villain was a donk, so was not that much worried about him having position on me. Maybe it is too much on the loose side, but i wanted to keep up the "I play 2/3 of the pots, and i am a donkey" image that really net me a profit later during this session.I liked the turn and the river. really As9x is the only hand it helped. I was afraid of Villain having the flush from the beginning a lot more than him hitting a straight.Let me know if you are interested in the result at all.

The turn bet isn't too big if he's gonna call and chase a flush.Once you make that bet though, you're pretty much committed to call his push on any non-spade river though.

Villain shows for a missed flush draw and I double up.I'd like to note that I didnt post this hand to show what a genius I am. On the contrary I am positive that I have had to make some serious mistakes to put my entire stack in (even if it was only 73 blinds or so) with a hand like that on a board like that. The reason for posting was that I really had a hard time figuring how to play it differently other than folding preflop (which is certainly a valid option)Villain is a donk btw, his call on the turn is stUpid to say the least.

Well, a good result. I can see it happening.You really need to consider calling raises with suited connectors out of position. If you hit them on the flop, you are usually going to be trying to draw to complete a straight or a flush. You want to draw cheaply. It it is difficult to do this out of postion in a raised pot.

Not only is his turn call stupid, but he isnt deep enough to make an all in bluff... I mean, I said I would fold it, but acid makes some nice points about you being committed based on pot size vs stack sizes. nh, make notes, sit with him often, buy a new house.
