Bottom Set On A Flush Board

Recommended Posts

Edit: Subject should say flush flop. Whoops.Blinds are 10/20Starting stacks of 60010 handedHero has ~1000MP1 has ~750Hero is BB with [6d6s]4 limpers, Hero ChecksFlop [Kc 6c Jc]Hero bets 60, MP1 and CO call, 2 folds.Turn [8h]Hero checks, MP1 checks, CO checksRiver [9s]Hero checks, MP1 bets 200, CO folds, Hero??Reads on MP1: Fairly tight, is capable of making a semi-bluff in this spot, but is also capable of making it look like a semi-bluff.This isn't too difficult of a hand I don't think, but the river bet kind of put me in a quandary and I think I should have bet out on the turn to negate this. But, this was in the early stages of the tourney and I didn't want to burn chips. People like to slow play here as well. Although when CO folded, I was putting MP1 on a busted draw.

Bet the turn every single time. Checking and letting a free one come off is really really badValue bet river.. I like a bet of about 180 or 200As played, snap call..You checked, I'm assuming, to get value from a busted draw. You can shove river after he bets if you think he is value betting thin/will call off thin

I thought so. I always think of the better way to play the hand after it's over. This is what I immediately thought afterwards. Thanks for confirming what I should have done.Edit: Is PF standard here? Raising from the BB here would just bloat the pot unnecessarily, correct?

Yeah, I'd check here. Bloating the pot sucks here being OOP and stacks are pretty shallow

Ok, rock on. I didn't snap call against him, but I did call because I went with my read and my gut. TID.

I concur if you bet the flop and they just called I'm assuming you are good with bottom set. I hammer the turn. However the river is sketchy but I probably only flat call you can't push because you only get called by a flush or Q10 for nut straight imo

I would normally jam the turn, but like I said. I didn't because sometimes these players slowplay like crazy. Especially being called by TWO people, one of which especially likes to slowplay. Had it been heads up to the turn, the hand would have been completely different.
