I considered the possibility that he could have an overpair to my tens, so I was raising with the intention of folding to a shove. The K was not a nice card, I thought that it may have hit his range, but it's only really hitting AK. I considered firing, but I thought that since I only had around 1k behind any bet would commit me to the pot.On the river, I figure I'm probably not getting any value from his hand (because at this point I'm putting him on something like AhQx. Does the shove induce only better hands to call? And is there a better way to play this river? bet and call a shove?

Should I just be shoving the turn when he checks then? the pot is 1k and I only have 1k left.
no, id bet around 300. Blinds are small enough that you can still fold. pushing isnt bad either tho, especially if youre not comfortable with short stack play.

In general I try not to commit too many chips in such a marginal situation so early in a SnG. I'm fine with the PF call, but I'm not raising that flop. A small raise from UTG is often a solid hand, likely a pair bigger than your TT or AK/AKs. Your raise is not going to get him to fold a big pair, especially since you didn't reraise PF, and if any overcard hand includes the Ah, he's also not going anywhere. I'd probably float the flop and see what he does on the turn. If he checks the turn, them I'm firing and folding to a check-raise. It would cost you less than raising the flop and puts you in a better spot to take the pot, IMO. Besides, you still have BB to worry about, who could be sitting quietly with a flopped flush.

The problem with flatting here on the flop is that our hand looks like a flush draw, so if a blank falls off, then regardless of what UTG has, he should be firing again most likely..Its just a really crappy spot

What does a smallish bet like that represent?

Your also giving them a good price to draw though, so if your going to play just shove and take whatever leverage you have.
Its a break even price for them to draw at 4.4:1 chip wise. If youre a good short stack player I think thats a better gamble cash wise than pushing.

Like the call pre - I don't get committed with marginal hands this earlyLike the raise on the flop - You are right here as well. If he re-raises it will be for everything and you can foldWhen it's checked to me after he flat calls our flop bet, I lead into him another $300. If he re-raises I can still get out.If he calls the turn and we miss the river (not the miracle 10) then when it's checked to me, check behind. With that miracle ten, and your bet on the turn, you would have 700ish, he might be priced to call you.Unless my math is off, you can get away from this hand with 700 left in your stack at a couple spots. The blinds are small and I think you have to be comfortable playing back from that level to win these consistently.
